We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Business Development Manager, Issuer Services - Corporate & Institutional Banking.
In this role you will:
- Originate and win new Issuer Services mandates by leading client discussions, shaping solutions, and partnering with Relationship Managers and product stakeholders.
- Grow market share and deepen client relationships through client calling, pitching, presentations and negotiation, working closely with Global Banking, Commercial Banking, Global Capital Financing and other partners.
- Manage an assigned client portfolio to agreed revenue, profitability and risk appetite targets, ensuring disciplined pipeline management from origination through execution.
- Build and maintain a strong network of referral sources, including:
- External: Corporates, Financial Institutions, top-tier Investment Banks, regional/local Commercial Banks, consultants/advisors, law firms
- Internal: Global Banking and Markets, Global Capital Financing, Commercial Banking and other HSBC teams
- Partner in deal pitches and execution to ensure a seamless client experience, strong internal coordination, and high-quality delivery.
- Apply HSBC policies, business filters and diligence requirements throughout deal screening, pitching and execution, in line with Global Standards and internal governance.
- Contribute to process improvements and effective teamwork across the Issuer Services business.
- Follow all procedures as set by Compliance, Legal and FIM.
To be successful you will need:
- Strong sales and marketing experience in the financial services sector, with a proven revenue track record.
- Prior banking experience is required; experience in client coverage/relationship management, credit/lending, or capital markets/capital financing is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Mandarin and Cantonese are a strong advantage.
- A collaborative, outcomes-driven approach, able to influence across multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a pressurised environment; well organised with an ability to prioritise tasks.
- Attention to detail and a strong learning mindset.
