Why HSBC

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

As Regional Head of Product Management for Global Trade Solutions (GTS) in Asia-Pacific you’ll define and execute the regional strategy across GTS products and propositions. This role matters because ASP is HSBC’s largest region by revenues and plays a central part in strengthening market relevance in trade finance while managing risk and improving client outcomes. You’ll set priorities across product development, technology investment and commercialisation to deliver revenue, cost and profitability outcomes. Working across a complex global matrix you’ll align global consistency and reuse with country-specific client needs plus regulatory and operating requirements. Success looks like stronger product economics, improved digital adoption and automation, and a consistent end-to-end client experience that supports growth. You’ll also strengthen governance and controls so products operate within risk appetite and meet regulatory expectations.

What you'll be doing

  • Set and execute the ASP product strategy across the GTS portfolio in line with strategic priorities
  • Shape the regional suite of products to meet target client needs across markets and segments
  • Optimise product economics through pricing to market, cost discipline and efficient capital consumption
  • Govern product risk by embedding effective controls and ensuring activity operates within risk appetite
  • Oversee product delivery and servicing models to improve client journeys, STP and SUT outcomes
  • Create investment cases and prioritise product and technology enhancements within allocated budgets
  • Deliver development and enhancement initiatives to requirements within agreed timeframes and budgets
  • Commercialise new and existing products through sales tools, training, marketing materials and clear frontline ownership
  • Partner with Sales and frontline teams on client engagement, deal structuring and review of DACs or EAs requiring exceptional approval
  • Manage engagement with third parties and vendors delivering components of GTS products and propositions

What we're looking for

  • Bring extensive knowledge of GTS including traditional trade products, structured trade products and market dynamics
  • Demonstrate substantial senior management experience within GTS across multiple regions and geographies
  • Show strong digital acumen with experience building digital propositions and scaling adoption
  • Apply commercial judgement to pricing, profitability and investment prioritisation across a product portfolio
  • Navigate complex global matrix environments across Product, Digital Channels, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Finance
  • Manage large complex teams across multiple locations including building capability and ways of working
  • Communicate clearly and influence senior stakeholders through concise narratives and presentations
  • Interpret evolving regulatory requirements and translate them into product design, governance and control expectations

Building the future of trade

If you want to shape how HSBC delivers trade finance across Asia-Pacific this role offers the scope to influence strategy, investment and client outcomes at scale. You’ll work across a diverse footprint, balancing global consistency with the requirements of local markets and regulators. The focus is on creating economically sound propositions, improving digital journeys and strengthening automation and operational effectiveness.
