If you’re looking for a career where you can make a real impression, join HSBC and discover how valued you’ll be. Whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

This team leads the implementation of the Group’s people strategy in line with our business objectives. It facilitates talent management, succession planning, and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and engagement.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a People Business Partner, People, Governance and Communications (PG&C)

Why HSBC

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

This role is responsible for delivering the people strategy working closely with the Head of People in Group Infrastructure, our Chief People & Governance Officer and fellow People Business Partners. You’ll provide strategic people partnership to leaders in PGC across a globally dispersed team within a critical business area. The remit spans business performance, cost optimisation, workforce risk and colleague experience while reinforcing a high-performance culture with care. As part of the Group Infrastructure People Leadership team you’ll contribute to the wider portfolio agenda and take ownership of specific pieces of work on behalf of Infrastructure. Success looks like clear people priorities that enable delivery at scale, stronger leadership capability and governance that manages risk and supports regulatory compliance.

What you'll be doing

  • Act as the people partner to members of the Leadership Team across the global PGC organization

  • Provide trusted counsel, challenge and insight to senior stakeholders across multiple geographies

  • Navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, aligning global, regional, functional and business priorities

  • Shape and deliver workforce strategies that enable a high performance culture with care

  • Oversee organisation design and transformation initiatives across the portfolio

  • Champion an inclusive culture with care, strengthening accountability, engagement and colleague experience

  • Build organisational capability through talent, succession and leadership development strategies

  • Leverage people analytics, insights and governance frameworks to inform decisions, manage risk and ensure regulatory compliance

What we're looking for

  • Bring significant senior People leadership experience in a large, matrixed organisation with influence at enterprise wide level

  • Demonstrate experience operating within Financial Services and/or a complex, scaled and regulated organisation

  • Drive the delivery of the bank-wide People Strategy into the PGC functions, advocating our products and propositions

  • Translate business strategy into a coherent people strategy with clear outcomes across targets, timelines, cost and quality

  • Apply broad expertise across organisational effectiveness and design, talent and succession and industrial relations

  • Deliver complex transformation and culture change, moving between strategic design and hands-on delivery

  • Build capability in senior leaders and leadership teams through coaching and development focused on performance and effectiveness

  • Create and run strong people governance frameworks that balance workforce risk with colleague experience and business performance

Building a high performance culture with care

This is an opportunity to shape how the Infrastructure Leadership Team builds capability, plans its workforce and supports colleagues across a global footprint. You’ll work closely with senior leaders on the decisions that influence performance, operating model and culture. The work is varied and high impact - from organisation design and transformation to succession planning and governance. If you want to help set clear people priorities for a critical part of the bank we’d like to hear from you.
