Role Profile
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing International Corporate Actions for proprietary, equity financing and equity swap businesses. The role at HSBC involves covering voluntary corporate actions. This is a key role which is responsible for processing the day-to-day events, ensuring controls are observed, and queries are turned around efficiently. This person will work closely with the rest of Asset Services, Settlements the Front Office and external clients.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Take the initiative to resolve any issues which may adversely affect our reputational risk or profitability
- Take ownership for working with the Front Office or other area to resolve queries relating to a data integrity issue or otherwise raised by a downstream area
- Provide a high level of service to desks and their clients
- Awareness of and compliance with key controls within your area
- Manage processing of dividend positions in accordance with agreed timeframes
- Manage responses to queries in accordance with agreed timeframes
- Continuously improve to processes
- Participate in Asset Service related projects
To be successful you will need:
- The candidate will have people management skills and will be responsible for the running of the corporate action team and ensuring the team. They will have responsibility for ensuring the team process the full life cycle of an event on the dates require.
- Attention to detail is required for sign off on events, payments and internal movements.
- The HSBC risk management framework is to be adhered to with strong communication skills for escalation. Ensure their teams breaks are adhering to SOX standards and are kept to the absolute minimum.
- The candidate would need extensive and practical experience of the intricacies of processing a corporate action. This will include processing stock lending, cash equity and SWAPs.
- Corporate Action knowledge on various APAC markets including Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong.
