We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Investment Specialist, Real Assets.
In this role you will:
Client & Distribution Leadership
- Serve as the primary product expert for Real Assets strategies in Asia, acting as a trusted partner to internal distribution teams and key clients.
- Partner with Sales to originate, progress, and close new business opportunities across institutional and wholesale channels, aligned to agreed AOP and strategic priorities.
- Lead client engagement including meetings, portfolio reviews, education sessions, and due diligence discussions, ensuring clear articulation of investment thesis, risks, and outcomes.
Product, Portfolio & Market Insight
- Attend investment and strategy meetings with portfolio managers and provide client-led market intelligence that informs portfolio positioning, product roadmap, and go-to-market priorities.
- Maintain a strong understanding of real assets market trends (e.g., rates, liquidity, valuation cycles, regulation, sustainability/transition themes) and translate these into client-relevant insights.
- Support the development and refresh of product narratives, positioning, and competitive differentiation across the Real Assets platform.
Due Diligence, RFPs & Materials
- Coordinate and support RFP/RFI responses, consultant questionnaires, and due diligence processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
- Contribute to the creation and governance of marketing materials, presentations, factsheets, and thought leadership, working with Marketing/Compliance to meet required standards.
Stakeholder Management & Teamwork
- Build productive relationships across AM (Sales, Client Service, Product, Investments, Risk, Compliance, Operations) to ensure joined-up execution and a high-quality client experience.
- Operate with full and transparent communication on pipeline, priorities, and risks; proactively resolve issues and remove blockers to delivery.
Operational Effectiveness & Controls
- Ensure all activities conform to external regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures, including record keeping and timely closure of audit points.
- Demonstrate strong risk awareness, escalating issues appropriately and supporting a culture of Treating Customers Fairly and responsible outcomes.
Customers / Stakeholders
- Group clients (primarily GPB and INS) and other institutional/wholesale client segments as applicable
- AM Sales teams (institutional and wholesale) and Client Service teams
- AM Alternatives / Real Assets investment teams and product teams
- Broader AM investment teams (e.g., Solutions / Multi‑Asset) where cross‑asset solutions are required
- External stakeholders: consultants, platforms, industry bodies, and media (where appropriate and approved)
To be successful you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA and/or CFA preferred.
- Significant experience in asset management, banking, or financial services with exposure to Real Assets (real estate, infrastructure, energy transition, real asset debt/private markets).
- Strong client-facing capability with excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex information succinctly and credibly.
- Experience partnering with portfolio managers, product teams, and senior stakeholders across a large organisation.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with market data tools (e.g., Bloomberg) beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise effectively, and operate with high standards of conduct and business ethics.
