We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Insurance Risk Manager.
The role holder will support the Head of Risk Strategy and Western Markets in managing all deliverables of the team assigned. The role is global in scope, responsible for a variety of activities including risk reporting at a global and regional level as well as setting standards and requirements for the local markets; and supporting Insurance Risk stewardship activities.
In this role you will:
- Design, socialisation and development of risk management information (MI) that facilitates visibility and oversight of current risk issues, as well as forward-looking and trigger-based MI.
- Design of processes to ensure effective, efficient and documented implementation of aspects of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and supporting guidance.
- Managing roll out of new framework requirements from Global Risk.
- Designing and collating evidence requirements for policy and procedure compliance and managing the regular process requirements.
- Ensure delivery of the requirements for the risk management meetings by contributing to the planning for the meeting, including forward agendas, requests for papers, efectiveness reviews, following up on actions, pack management and storage (also including information required to flow from underlying committees/forums).
- Regular review and challange of Insurance risk map and global and local risk appetite statements (RAS) to ensure quality submissions in line with the RMF and challenge and remediate shortcomings.
- Management of delivery of MI and other framework requirements for Global Risk.
- Active engagement and relationship building with the risk stewards, CCO team, IWPB and Global Risk teams, and entity risk teams to facilitate effectve oversight.
- Determine and undertake targeted thematic reviews and site specific ‘deep dives’ into certain risk areas.
- Organise and conduct site reviews to evidence adherence to risk steward and CRO roles under the RMF.
- Oversee the Insurance Control Framework which provides a clear audit trail to evidence sufficient oversight over testing of controls, issue management and escalations as required.
- Ensuring proactive collection, effective storage, organisation and updating of key documents and information to contribute to the team deliverables.
To be successful you will need:
- Experience in enterprise risk management and risk reporting roles, preferrably in a large-scale insurance organisation.
- Ability to lead change, influence and actively drive performance.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with business stakeholders and collectively grow the business while minimising risk.
- Knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry and regulatory environment including current and emerging risks.
- Self-starter, independent with good communication and leadership skills.
- Team player and high achiever with a positive attitude.
