We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join the team as Head of Family and Philanthropy Advisory, Asia Pacific.

 

Principle Responsibilities

 

  • The Head of Family and Philanthropy Advisory for Asia Pacific will lead the strategic direction and operational excellence of the combined function covering advisory services for Family Office, Family Governance, Philanthropy Planning, and Philanthropy Governance and Support Services. Advisory is a sub-business of the overall Wealth Planning & Advisory proposition and primarily targets for high and ultra-high net-worth clients from Asia Pacific in HSBC Private Bank.
  • Role holder must oversee the development and delivery of bespoke Family and Philanthropy advice and structuring solutions and collaborate with the wider Wealth Planning & Advisory team, relationship managers and other specialists.
  • The role demands visionary leadership to drive strategic business and commercial development, proposition, and net new money growth, while maintaining HSBC's commitment to client centric excellence.
  • Role holder will need to act as a thought leader in the industry, representing the organisation at key forums, shaping market strategies, and mentoring a high-performing team. 
  • Focus on international and entrepreneurial wealth and succession planning, and to ensure alignment with global best practices and regulatory requirements, positioning HSBC as the trusted advisor in wealth management.

 

Requirements


Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

  • Tenured experience gained in private professional practice and/or at financial institutions advising high and ultra-high net worth clients on wealth and succession planning topics
  • Extensive knowledge of domestic and international client needs with direct experience on family and philanthropy advisory and service solutions.
  • An in-depth knowledge of our competitive landscape and regulatory environment
  • Experience leading, managing, and coaching professionals in a changing environment, proactively addressing evolution in the industry
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to develop strong and productive relationships with clients, key senior management, colleagues and intermediaries in the wealth planning industry
  • Degree holder in law, accounting or finance, preferably with the STEP, Family Firm Institute certifications, Philanthropy/Social Impact professional programme certifications, CPA, or law qualification.
  • Highest levels of ethical standards and integrity
  • Must have Cantonese and English language fluency and experience in advising clients on succession planning matters in Putonghua.
