We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Head of Alts Investment Solutions, Data and Automation.
In this role you will:
- Global operating model and service excellence
- Stand up and lead a global, transversal Investment Solutions, Data & Automation team covering investment platforms, operational data capabilities, and automation.
- Define and implement the global operating and support model (roles/ responsibilities, tiered support, escalation paths, hand-offs across regions and centres of excellence).
- Establish service standards (service catalogue, SLAs/ OLAs, incident response expectations, communication routines) across regions and Alternatives capabilities.
- Embed consistent “ways of working” across Operations, Technology, vendors and regional stakeholders.
- Platform support & change delivery (post go-live ownership)
- Own end-to-end platform run for the Alternatives investment systems estate: BAU support, service management and user support models, Incident and problem management (including trend analysis, remediation), environment governance, change control and deployment readiness, enhancements, backlog management, and lifecycle/obsolescence management.
- Ensure platforms are resilient, scalable and audit-ready, with mature controls, evidence, documentation and repeatable processes.
- Build a strong engagement model with solution providers to ensure fast recovery, high availability and continuous improvement.
- Data, automation and AI-enabled process improvement
- Drive a multi-year agenda to increase straight-through processing and reduce manual touchpoints across Alternatives Operations.
- Strengthen data quality, lineage, reconciliations, and control reporting, partnering with Data and Technology teams to ensure durable fixes.
- Identify and deliver automation opportunities (workflow, rules-based controls, reconciliation tooling, exception management, AI-assisted triage/ insights where appropriate).
- Co-ordinate with Group Technology, Data Science and AI programmes to industrialise improvements and avoid duplicated effort.
- Vendor, stakeholder and commercial management
- Own strategic vendor relationships for third-party platforms and data providers: Contract performance, SLAs, service reviews, issue resolution and roadmap influence. Vendor risk, resilience, and exit/contingency planning (where required)
- Partner closely with Operations, Investment, Finance, Risk and Compliance stakeholders to: Prioritise the roadmap and align on service outcomes, Ensure controls meet internal standards and regulatory expectations, Drive transparent governance, clear decisions and timely delivery
- Leadership, people and culture
- Build and lead a high-performing global team; coach talent and promote inclusive, collaborative working.
- Set clear objectives and measurable outcomes (availability, incident reduction, automation benefits, data quality KPIs).
- Act as a senior leader who “gets it done”: anticipates issues, escalates early, and keeps delivery moving across boundaries.
To be successful you will need:
- Significant experience leading investment operations platform support and change in Asset management/ Alternatives (run + change ownership, not just project delivery).
- Proven track record designing and operating global service management capabilities: incident/ problem/ change/ governance, SLAs, controls and audit evidence.
- Strong stakeholder leadership across Operations, Technology, Risk/ Compliance and vendors, with ability to influence senior audiences.
- Hands-on understanding of data operating models (data quality, lineage, reconciliations, controls, MI/ KPIs) and delivering automation at scale.
- Experience managing third-party providers (commercial governance, SLA performance, issue escalation, roadmap alignment).
- Exposure to Alternatives products and operating models (e.g., Private Markets, Private Credit, Real Assets, Hedge Funds).
- Experience with one or more of the named platforms: eFront, Allvue, Anaplan, HSPAD, and/or enterprise data platforms (Arcesium).
- Experience partnering with AI/ advanced analytics programmes to improve operational outcomes (e.g., exception triage, predictive controls, intelligent workflow).
- Relevant degree (finance, engineering, computer science, operations, or equivalent experience).
- Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA, ACA/ACCA, FRM) are an advantage.
- Product ownership mindset: clear prioritisation, outcomes-led roadmap, value realisation.
- Operational excellence: control-aware, disciplined governance, dependable execution.
- Automation and data fluency: can translate operational pain points into data/ tech requirements and measurable improvements.
- Clear communication: able to simplify complex topics and drive decisions.
- Leadership across difference: inclusive, collaborative, comfortable working across cultures and time zones.
- Pragmatic problem-solver who moves work forward and removes blockers.
