Job description

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a GPB&W ASP Delivery Lead

In this role you will:

Definition of work

  • Manage decomposition of GPB&W ASP demand into an actionable delivery backlog and coherent delivery plans.
  • Partner with Product Owners/Business Owners to clarify outcomes, scope, hypotheses, acceptance criteria, and key controls.
  • Facilitate breakdown into increments (MVP → iterations), ensuring clear ownership, sequencing, and readiness.
  • Ensure work enters delivery “ready” (dependencies understood, risks assessed, approach agreed, environments/access in place).

Prioritisation and investment support

  • Support prioritisation across GPB&W ASP capabilities, including preparation of:
    • investment case materials / business cases (as required)
    • hypothesis statements and outcome measures
    • WSJF (or equivalent) scoring and prioritisation packs
  • Maintain a transparent prioritisation approach balancing customer value, regulatory commitments, risk reduction and capacity constraints across the wealth continuum.

Dependencies, risks, issues and assumptions

  • Own the RAID log and ensure disciplined identification, mitigation, escalation and closure.
  • Proactively manage cross-team and cross-platform dependencies (upstream/downstream), including third parties where relevant.
  • Drive early risk sensing and corrective action; escalate through agreed governance paths with clear options and impact.

Delivery governance and forums

  • Plan and run delivery governance forums with tight agenda control, decision capture, and action tracking.
  • Facilitate (as appropriate): Sprint/Iteration reviews, Scrum-of-Scrums, delivery stand-ups, PI Planning, portfolio syncs, QBR inputs.
  • Keep governance lightweight, outcome-focused and audit-friendly (clear traceability from decisions to delivery).

Capacity planning, forecasting and financial hygiene

  • Maintain a holistic view of demand vs capacity across squads, geographies, and skill sets.
  • Produce delivery forecasts and scenario views (e.g., best/likely/worst) and surface trade-offs early.
  • Partner with Engineering Leads and finance stakeholders to align resourcing/funding to agreed priorities.

Delivery reporting and performance insights

  • Provide transparent reporting on progress, risks, dependencies, benefits and forecasts.
  • Track delivery health and flow metrics (e.g., throughput, cycle time, predictability, defect leakage) and drive improvement actions.
  • Enable self-serve reporting where possible, with exception-based reporting for senior stakeholders.

Risk, controls and operational resilience

  • Embed risk and control considerations into planning and execution (controls-by-design).
  • Ensure required documentation, approvals, evidence capture and auditability are in place for releases.
  • Drive operational resilience outcomes: readiness of monitoring, runbooks, support model, incident playbooks, and rollback plans.

How We Lead

  • Courageous integrity: raise delivery and control risks early; challenge optimism bias with evidence.
  • Deliver at pace: remove blockers, simplify decision-making, keep focus on highest-value outcomes.
  • Inclusive teams: create space for diverse viewpoints across GPB&W, Tech and Risk; ensure healthy challenge.
  • Collaborate across boundaries: connect end-to-end value delivery (not “done in dev”).
  • Make it happen through others: enable squads with clarity, cadence and predictable decisioning.

To be successful you will need:

  • Agile/Lean delivery leadership (Scrum, Kanban, flow) and pragmatic governance
  • Backlog flow management and prioritisation support (incl. WSJF or equivalent)
  • RAID management and dependency orchestration across multiple teams
  • Senior stakeholder engagement, negotiation and clear communication
  • Forecasting, capacity planning and outcome-focused reporting
  • Strong control mindset (risk identification, evidence, auditability, resilience)

Experience and qualifications

  • Proven delivery leadership in a regulated environment (financial services preferred).
  • Experience coordinating delivery across multiple squads/teams and locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive predictability, manage dependencies and land decisions with senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with change governance, release management and operational readiness.

Success measures

  • Predictable delivery against agreed priorities with improving flow metrics.
  • RAID is current, owned, and escalations happen early with clear decision options.
  • Governance forums are effective, decision-oriented and valued.
  • Releases land safely with appropriate controls, documentation and operational readiness.
  • Benefits are tracked and realised through adoption, not just delivery.
