We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our Global Sales Effectiveness team as a Front Office (FO) Development Coach. The FO Development Coach will play a pivotal role in uplifting frontline capability and embedding a high-performance, investment-led sales culture across HSBC Private Bank.
This global role combines facilitation, group coaching, content design and operational delivery across the client team learning journey. You’ll support Relationship Managers (RMs), Investment Counsellors (ICs), and Desk Heads to deliver consistent, client-centric advice and stronger commercial outcomes.
The FO Development Coach will also collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to create training content, design role plays, and develop tools that reinforce our proposition and embed sales excellence across regions.
This role will be based in Hong Kong with travel expected within Asia (Singapore, China, India).
In this role you will:
1) Training Programme Design & Development
- Partner with key stakeholders (global and local) to agree capability priorities and translate business asks into a clear learning strategy and plan.
- Shape and refine learning solutions across induction, accreditation and ongoing development, ensuring alignment to the Private Bank proposition and RM skills framework.
- Co-create practical learning assets (role plays, case studies, simulations and tools) that build frontline confidence and consistency.
- Support localisation for Asia markets while maintaining global standards and a consistent learner experience.
2) Training Delivery
- Deliver and/or facilitate in-person skills induction to build practical capability for early client engagements.
- Deliver coaching for RMs, ICs and Desk Heads to improve sales effectiveness, client engagement and performance, aligned to internal leadership principles.
- Assess and provide structured feedback as part of the Private Bank Accreditation programme, reinforcing a high-performance culture.
- Embed continuous learning by partnering with Desk Heads and leaders to integrate development into BAU rhythms and share best practice.
3) Logistics & Operations
- Lead end-to-end organisation and delivery of quarterly inductions in Asia, including stakeholder alignment and on-the-day execution.
- Track new joiner completion across online and in-person induction requirements, escalating risks and ensuring timely progression.
- Organise accreditation operations end-to-end (candidate readiness, communications/invitations, scheduling, role play practice support) to ensure a consistent experience.
- Support accreditation governance, including global calibration and regional panel readiness, to maintain consistent assessment standards.
To be successful you will need:
- 8yrs+ experience in private banking, wealth management, or financial services sales.
- Experience in sales coaching, training facilitation, and/or learning design (formal coaching certification preferred).
- Experience supporting or delivering assessment-based accreditation (e.g. observed role plays, structured scoring, feedback frameworks, calibration).
- Knowledge of investment and wealth products, client engagement, and advisory process.
- Highly organised with strong communication skills, able to engage senior leaders and front-line colleagues.
- A global mindset; experience working across multiple markets and cultures.
