Equity Research Analyst, Asia Healthcare & Consumer - HSBC Global Asset Management

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Equity Research Analyst, Asia Healthcare & Consumer.
This role is part of the Active Equity team, focusing on Asian healthcare and consumer sectors and supports our investment platform across China, broader Asia, Global Emerging Markets, and Global Thematic strategies. You will generate high-conviction investment ideas, conduct in-depth fundamental research, and work closely with portfolio managers and other investment professionals.
In this role you will:
- Conduct detailed research on Asian healthcare and consumer sectors, identifying key trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Independently generate, present, and track investment ideas and recommendations for portfolio managers.
- Monitor company news, earnings, and regulatory developments, providing timely updates and insights.
- Support client-related activities, including responding to equity queries and participating in meetings and marketing efforts.
- Collaborate with other investment teams, sharing insights and contributing to a team-based research framework.
To be sucessful you will have:
- Fluency in Mandarin and English (spoken and written) is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Biotech is preferred.
- Solid experience in investment research; sell-side equity research experience is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable investment views.
- Strong writing and presentation skills; able to produce high-quality research materials.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative, team-based environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Biotech, or a related field.
