Working with institutional investors, banks, insurance companies, governments, and multinational corporations, this team covers fund administration, global custody, sub-custody and clearing, and corporate trust and loan agency services.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a Director, Treasury Product Manager - Securities Services.
Team Overview:
This role sits within the Agency Securities Lending & Liquidity Services product of the HSBC Securities Services business and will be fully focussed on supporting our Treasury Product.
With global coverage that sits hand in hand with our broader Securities Services (SSv) proposition, the Treasury Product is able to provide access to HSBC banking products that can significantly influence the client’s bottom line and operational ability. SSv has an unwavering focus on strategically building out it’s Treasury Product which is backed by a suite of market leading banking products leveraged through the HSBC Group.
The core services of the Treasury Product are wide-ranging and include many key banking products extending from standard cash payments to the execution of FX transactions, automated currency sweeps and cash investment opportunities. Treasury Product also offers continuous linked settlement to settle FX on a net basis. Cash investment opportunities may include (but are not limited to) Agency Reverse Repo or Agency Lending (with cash annex).
The network currently spans approximately 85 countries and 88 markets where HSBC offers either Global Custody or Direct Custody services. The role is strategically located in Hong Kong which is HSBC’s major Global Custody site but will be expected to work across geographies in close collaboration with all sites where we have Treasury services for our clients.
Role Purpose:
The Director, Treasury Product Manager in SSv is responsible for leading the development, management, and strategic direction of Treasury Products and solutions within the SSv business. This role involves overseeing product lifecycle management, driving innovation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver best-in-class cash and liquidity management solutions for clients.
Treasury Product is a value-added component within the full service solution provided under the Global Custody and Direct Custody product and service offering.
Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Development

- Define and execute the product strategy for Treasury solutions within SSv
- Keep abreast of external factors which could shape the product strategy e.g. client demands, regulations, market infrastructure changes, competitor landscape.
- Provide global insights into results performance of Treasury Product and progress toward strategic plan
- Actively manage any risks of being able to meet strategic priorities
- Provide commercial oversight into commercial review forums for anything related to Treasury Products
- Represent the product in product design authorities
- Understand and draw insights from global sales pipeline views
- Define and manage Key Risk Indicators (KRI’s) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Drive the digital strategy (e.g. digital assets) in collaboration with product solutions and Global Payments Solutions.
- Define and seek sponsorship for business cases for future strategic work
- Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with other senior product managers across SSv, sales, relationship management, finance treasury, operations, risk, and compliance teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Serve as the subject matter expert for treasury products, supporting client pitches, RFPs, and strategic initiatives
- Financial & Risk Management:
- Monitor product profitability, pricing, and performance metrics
- Ensure products comply with internal risk policies and external regulatory requirements
- Manage product risk, including liquidity, credit, and operational risks
- Client Engagement:
- Engage with key clients to understand their treasury needs and gather feedback for product improvements.
- Represent the firm at industry forums, conferences, and client meetings.
- Leadership & Team Development:
- Mentor and develop junior product managers and analysts
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in product management, treasury, or securities services, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role
- Deep understanding of cash management, liquidity solutions, and securities services products
- Deep understanding of the front to back of securities products
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks impacting treasury and securities services
- Proven track record of delivering complex product initiatives and managing cross-functional teams
- Experience with digital transformation in treasury or securities services
- Familiarity with global markets and multi-currency cash management
