We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a Director, Regional Head of Structured Trade Product.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Regional Head of Product & Propositions, the Regional Head of Structured Trade Product is accountable for building and scaling a market-leading structured trade product franchise across the 18 markets in the region. The role owns the end-to-end strategy, product architecture, risk and control outcomes, and commercial performance for a portfolio spanning  Receivables Finance, Supply Chain Finance, and Inventory Finance / Asset-Based Lending (ABL).

This is a senior role for a leader who can set direction in ambiguity, make hard trade-offs across growth, risk and investment, and mobilise cross-functional teams to deliver measurable outcomes at pace.

Key Accountabilities

  • Set and execute the regional structured trade product strategy: define target segments, value propositions, and a multi-year roadmap; translate strategy into a funded plan with clear milestones and benefits realisation.
  • Own P&L outcomes and performance management: drive revenue growth, returns, and balance sheet efficiency; actively manage product profitability, pricing discipline, and portfolio mix.
  • Scale structured trade finance products as priority growth engines: expand capability and embed consistent standards across markets.
  • Lead complex product governance and risk outcomes: ensure robust product design, documentation standards, and control frameworks; proactively identify emerging risks and drive remediation.
  • Drive transformation and digitisation: prioritise and sponsor technology change, data and MI uplift, and process re-engineering to increase Straight Through Processing (STP), reduce cost-to-serve, and improve client experience.
  • Commercialise through the front line: equip coverage teams with playbooks, training, and deal support; build a repeatable origination engine and improve conversion from pipeline to booked business.
  • Build external market presence: represent HSBC in industry forums, shape market standards where relevant, and use client/market insights to keep the proposition ahead of competitors.
  • Develop a high-performing specialist team: attract, retain and develop structured trade talent; set clear expectations, coach for impact, and create a culture of accountability and delivery.
  • Operate as a regional coordinator across product, sales, operations, risk, legal, finance, technology and transformation to deliver outcomes that no single function can land alone.
  • Influence senior stakeholders to align on risk appetite, investment priorities, and operating model choices, particularly where trade-offs are required.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in structured trade / working capital solutions with deep expertise in Inventory Finance / ABL, Receivables Finance, and Supply Chain Finance.
  • Track record of building or scaling a product/business line across multiple markets, including operating model design and execution.
  • Strong credit and risk judgement with experience embedding controls, monitoring and governance into product design (not bolting it on afterwards).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technology-enabled change (roadmaps, prioritisation, delivery governance, benefits tracking).
  • Commercial acumen: pricing, portfolio optimisation, and ability to drive sustainable returns while delivering a paramount experience for clients.
  • Executive-level communication, collaboration, and influencing skills; comfortable challenging constructively and making decisions with incomplete information.
  • Experience managing across multiple complex markets in a matrix environment would be advantageous.
