The Group Customer and Culture Director team will enable our business leaders to build a better understanding of changing customer needs and support the development of market-leading products and propositions by equipping our people with the right skills and tools to support our customers. This structure works hand in hand with the How We Lead programme, setting out the cultural reset across the bank. Customer centricity is one of our strategic priorities and a critical element of our culture, therefore strongly embedded in this structure.
Role purpose
Deliver high-quality analysis, trusted datasets, and actionable insights that empower the organisation to understand customer behaviour and drive informed decision making. By transforming complex data into clear, meaningful stories, this role plays a pivotal part in uncovering opportunities, identifying trends, and supporting strategic business initiatives.
Working closely with Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and business stakeholders, this role combines strong analytical capability, data storytelling, and technical fluency to ensure customer data is accurate, well-structured, and translated into meaningful actions.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Customer Intelligence Analyst.
In this role you will:
- Analyse customer data to identify trends, drivers, and opportunities related to growth, engagement, and customer experience
- Develop and maintain core customer datasets, metrics, and dashboards that support enterprise reporting
- Partner with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering teams to define data requirements, validate pipelines, and improve data models
- Apply analytical techniques (e.g., segmentation, driver analysis, trend analysis) to deepen understanding of customer behaviours
- Use AI-enabled analytics (e.g., ML/NLP/GenAI) to accelerate customer insights and improve segmentation, ensuring outputs are explainable and appropriately governed
- Translate complex analysis into clear narratives, visualisations, and recommendations for stakeholders
- Contribute to development of customer measurement frameworks and performance reporting
- Support data governance, definitions, and data quality improvements
- Communicate insights in a way that informs decisions at both working and senior levels
To be successful you will need:
- Customer analytics/data analysis experience, using insights to influence decisions
- Strong SQL and experience working with large datasets
- Data visualisation and storytelling using BI tools (e.g., Tableau/Power BI/Looker)
- Knowledge of core analytical methods (segmentation, hypothesis testing, basic predictive modelling) and AI/advanced analytics tools
- Experience working cross-functionally, including with curated datasets/semantic layers/data models
- Understanding of data quality, testing, and documentation; experience in regulated/data-sensitive environments is a plus
