Associate Director - Portfolio Structuring & Optimisation

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate Director.
The successful individual will be responsible for the development, implementation, execution and management of non-payment insurance policies and risk distribution strategies for the wholesale loan portfolio. The individual will support other risk distribution activities such as synthetic securitisations. This role requires a strong understanding of lending products, capital requirements, risk management principles, and insurance products, along with the ability to analyse data, identify opportunities, and mitigate potential risks.
In this role you will:
- Strategy Development: Develop and enhance secondary distribution strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals and risk parameters.
- Strategy Execution: Execute and oversee end-to-end distribution initiatives in Asia, with an emphasis on Non-Payment Insurance and Risk Participation structures.
- Product Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new distribution products and structures that drive balance sheet velocity.
- Portfolio Assessment: Conduct comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify exposures suitable for distribution.
- Documentation Negotiation: Negotiate and finalise NPI policies and Risk Participation agreements, ensuring compliance with internal standards.
- Industry Awareness: Monitor industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies, integrating relevant insights into strategic planning.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate the effectiveness of distribution products within the portfolio, adjusting strategies as required.
- Relationship Management: Establish and maintain robust relationships with bankers, insurance brokers, insurers, and investors to optimise risk distribution and foster new partnerships.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports and analyses to monitor key performance indicators, assess product impact, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all distribution products adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards, working closely with legal and compliance teams.
To be successful you will need:
- Experience in wholesale lending, portfolio management, capital management, risk management, or primary/secondary distribution.
- Proven ability to manage time-sensitive transactions from initiation to completion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with capacity to multitask, collaborate across teams, and influence decisions.
- Advanced analytical skills, including proficiency with data analysis tools and methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge of financial markets, distribution products, capital and risk management.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Diligent work ethic, confidence in approach, and ability to lead projects and drive outcomes
