We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Assistant Marketing Manager.

 

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with local and global stakeholders to support financial and business planning cycles for the marketing department
  • Project landing expectations, monitor variances against forecasts and provide insightful commentaries on marketing cost line movements
  • Manage monthly forecasts and expenditures within allocated marketing budgets across all cost lines and business units within and beyond the marketing department
  • Prepare monthly calculations and submissions of accruals in partnership with campaign champions and Finance
  • Support monthly matching of purchase orders with manual accrual offset balance to ensure numbers land as expected without errors or discrepancies
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of expenditures via internal certification system “Cadency” against Fusion records
  • Liaise with financial operations team or other counterparts to extract relevant financial information and analyses as needed
  • Facilitate thematic audit exercises to ensure governance and controls are in place to manage budgets effectively and accurately
  • Coordinate approvals across teams as part of the governance for marketing budget usage
  • Submit adjustment journals to ensure costs are booked into the appropriate cost lines
  • Monitor marketing spends to ensure all marketing activities and events are implemented within agreed budgets
  • Review procedures and arrange refreshers to teams on financial concepts relating to the booking of accruals and invoices, etc.
  • Identify initiatives to improve efficiencies around cost and processes as well as overall marketing effectiveness, with actionable recommendations
  • Assist in other support areas such as agency contracts / engagements, marketing risk governance, other planning deliverables / consolidation, etc.

 

To be successful you will need:

  • Degree level of qualification in accounting preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in finance / audit area
  • Experience in banking industry preferred
  • Possess solid understanding of budgeting and accrual concepts, rolling monthly cycles, etc., with relevant experience preferably in marketing-specific context
  • Ability to engage with all levels across functions effectively and efficiently with a strong, collaborative mindset
  • Responsible with an eagerness to learn and a can-do attitude
  • Quick learner, numbers savvy, highly organised and detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English
