Our banking services and products are bespoke, ranging from tailored investment advice and capital solutions to holistic health and personal protection and trustee services. Our team offers professional wealth management advice at both a local level and on a global scale. 

Should you join our Private Banking business, you will focus on building close relationship with our high-net-worth customers, providing professional advice and premium service to them and contribute to the profitability of the Bank.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Assistant Business Risk Management Manager, reporting to Head of Business Risk Management.

 

Principal responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Business Risk Management to operate a robust business risk and control framework to enable effective oversight, control and monitoring for Private Banking and Trustee, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Group/Bank policies.
  • Support the maintenance of the business risk and control framework for Private Banking and Trustee activities.
  • Support the effectiveness of risk management controls by assisting with reviews of control procedures and monitoring activities, and escalating gaps/themes.
  • Implement policies, procedures and controls to meet Group and regulatory requirements, with consideration of work efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support non-financial risk matters including regulatory, audit and assurance reviews; coordinate evidence gathering, action tracking and closure updates.
  • Prepare management information and reports on key risk indicators, risk events and risk exposures; identify improvement opportunities and recommendations.
  • Support risk/control workstreams in projects and audit reviews; follow up to ensure procedures and controls are implemented effectively.
  • Promote staff knowledge and awareness of compliance and conduct culture; provide advisory support and contribute to training for frontline teams.

 

Requirements

  • University graduate with proven banking experience, with exposure to risk control and relevant qualifications.
  • Committed, self-motivated and action-oriented personality with strong ownership and execution discipline to complete regular/ad-hoc assignments with attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills and risk/control awareness; able to manage multiple tasks, maintain action logs, and escalate issues appropriately
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; able to prepare clear written materials and support in-house briefings/training
  • Good influencing and stakeholder management skills; able to maintain effective working relationships with front office, risk stewards and other stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while collaborating effectively across teams
  • Ability to embrace change and work under pressure, managing competing deadlines and priorities
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese; able to prepare written materials and deliver in-house training 
  • Professional qualifications such as Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) and/or Certified Banker (CB) under Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) would be an advantage.
