We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Analyst, Business Development Greater China.

 

In this role you will: 

  • Be capable to work with multiple teams and work under stress to support large complex initiatives and projects while still in learning mode on lots of topics for those initiatives/projects
  • Even better to have understanding on latest developments related to China/open-up and RMB
  • Be sensitive and follow through market news, market intelligence and be highly alert to remind the managers of upcoming news and important dates etc
  • Research and digest latest regulatory changes and market development which have impacts to Greater China & RMB business in MSS
  • Coordinate and work in collaboration with different product and sales teams over multi-asset classes to deliver tasks and projects assigned
  • Work closely with Compliance and other relevant support functions to ensure Greater China business strategies are internally and externally complied
  • Compile raw data, verify different source of data and provide the first draft of analysis under guidance from the managers, be able to identify some basic trends and impact on business from the data analysis
  • Assist the managers for client meetings, collateral, talking points and prepare external meetings and roadshow
  • Educate and update internal stakeholders and clients regarding the wider role & the China strategies of MSS, China capital market developments, and the RMB (Renminbi) internationalization
  • Be able to independently & professionally prepare respond for the manager to business enquiries and pull resources from various stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Responsible for the continual assessment of operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology
  • Demonstrate compliance with HSBC Bank plc Group standards, manuals and policies and adheres to the defined work practices, internal controls and risk management standards associated with the role
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
  • Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business activities associated with the role, specifically HSBC Bank plc internal controls and compliance policies and manuals

 

To be successful you will need: 

  • University degree holder in Finance, Business Administration or related disciplines;
  • Fluency in English, Cantonese, and English
  • Good writing skills in both English and Chinese to help in drafting the first cut of newsletter, internal broadcast and briefing notes for internal executives & external stakeholders
  • Be change-oriented, agile and able to deal with tight deadlines and work pressure independently;
  • Excellent skills in MS Office especially in Excel & Powerpoint, highly sensitive in data and trends
  • Have growth mindsets and importantly the willingness and capacities to learn quickly on the job.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of client-centricity, a team focus, and a collaborative spirit; creative thinking and solution-driven attitude is a plus
  • Be able to prioritise jobs and good at time management, to leverage the resources in the Group and collaborate with other teams for working smart.
  • Experience and good knowledge in the development of RMB and the latest China capital markets initiatives would be a plus
  • Sufficient understanding in China inbound, outbound, cross-border, and local regime products & its brief history would be preferred
