Job description

Being part of HSBC in France, you’ll help evolve and grow our business within Risk & Compliance / Enterprise Risk Management in Paris. Are you passionate about operational resilience and third-party risk? Do you enjoy working across a matrix organisation to influence outcomes? Do you have a strong ability to translate technical risk topics into clear business impacts?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, we want to hear from you!

What you will do:

Role Purpose

Third Party Risk is HSBC’s exposure to disruption, operational failure, and harm arising from the use of external suppliers and other third parties (e.g., outages, cyber/technology incidents, service delivery failures, concentration risk, data security/privacy breaches).

Within Group Resilience Risk (GRR), part of Group Risk and Compliance, we strengthen HSBC’s resilience by driving consistent third-party risk management and controls across the supplier lifecycle—from due diligence and contracting through ongoing monitoring, testing, incident management, and exit planning.

The role holder is accountable for ensuring Third Party Risk is effectively managed and embedded across HSBC Continental Europe (HBCE) and HSBC, in line with defined standards and in compliance with relevant frameworks, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

In this role you will:

  • Provide technical guidance so stakeholders understand the resilience control environment and risk assessments, proportionate to the scale and complexity of operations.
  • Translate issues, incidents, and top/emerging risks into clear business impacts, recommending changes to controls, resources, or operating models to remain within risk appetite.
  • Enable risk and control owners to assess and evidence control design and operating effectiveness, and address gaps promptly.
  • Provide targeted resilience risk expertise to support the First Line of Defence (1LoD) in implementing and sustaining key mitigating controls.
  • Support regulatory and audit engagement on resilience risk, ensuring compliance and on-time closure of audit actions and findings.
  • Build capability through training, coaching, and practical guidance to strengthen resilience risk awareness and execution.

You should apply if you have:

  • Experience in risk management within a Globally Significant Financial Institution (GSFI).
  • Strong technical expertise in resilience risk / third-party risk (identify, assess, monitor, control, mitigate).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills in a matrix and multi-location environment, with the confidence to provide robust challenge constructively.
  • A proactive, improvement-minded approach (a “change agent” who can challenge the status quo diplomatically).

Even if you feel you do not meet 100% of our qualifications, we encourage you to apply, if you believe this role is right for you.

What you’ll get in return:

The pay range for this role is 90,000€ - 100,000€
