What you will do:

 

This role will report to the HBCE Governance Manager and will be responsible for supporting the HBCE Data and Analytics Functions to establish and drive an effective data strategy for the HBCE and CIB Head of Data.

The Governance Analyst will be implementing robust governance to ensure that data is not only fit for purpose, but an enterprise asset that drives superior business performance. This will include ensuring alignment to a common framework and capability as well as focusing on data strategy, roadmaps, and objectives. The Governance Analyst will work closely with data leads and provide support where needed to drive governance initiatives.

The role holder must also have strong communication skills to support the HBCE Governance Manager to successfully engage with the business and functions to enable development and implementation of the HSBC Data Strategy.

 

In this role you will:

  • Establish centralised OKRs for HBCE Data & Analytics, set guiding objectives, and track progress effectively.
  • Ensure the HBCE Data Strategy is fully aligned to the Group Data Strategy and customer needs, and drive awareness across the organisation.
  • Track and guide the functions’ Books of Work (BoWs), supporting rapid, accurate execution against agreed recommendations.
  • Collate and present monthly information requests, and oversee the function’s reporting plus regulatory data requirements.
  • Support the establishment and running of forums for the HBCE and CIB Head of Data and Analytics, building consensus and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Enable and facilitate digitalisation across the HBCE Data & Analytics space, including sustainable technology-led solutions that improve decision-making.
  • Partner closely with Data Leads to support and deliver product governance initiatives.
  • Design and implement a data-led communications and events roadmap (Culture & Conduct / Data Literacy) for the HBCE Data Community, improving visibility and engagement.
  • Collaborate with Data Management, Data Compliance & Adoption, Data Business Architecture & Technology, and Data Digitisation & Tooling (and other Data teams globally) to create bespoke and ongoing solutions that drive effective decision making across the HBCE Data and Analytics remit.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships, share best practices, translate emerging external analytics trends into actionable opportunities, and role-model the Group Values in how you work.

  • Strong strategic and analytical capability, with proven problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Successful relevant experience in Financial Services
  • Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, influence, and collaborate internally and externally at all organisational levels.
  • Strong communication skills, with excellent written and verbal ability in English.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across multi-disciplinary, diverse teams and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple outputs with exceptional drive, commitment, focus, and a strong track record of delivery; strong Excel skills.
