This is a unique opportunity to sit at the intersection of regulatory compliance, infrastructure development sustainable finance. You will play a critical role in shaping compliance, forward-looking financing solutions that support economic grown and environmental sustainability.

 

As our VP CIB Regulatory Compliance, Infrastructure/Finance and Sustainability, Advisory, you will:

 

  • Provide in real time compliance advisory support to Infrastructure Finance and Sustainability Finance teams, partnering with deal teams to assess regulatory risk in project finance, structured finance and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)-linked transactions
  • Ensure effective Regulator Compliance input to the governance and reporting processes operated by Global Business/Global functions, as well as interpret and apply relevant regulations, including those related to banking, securities and sustainable finance
  • Foster a positive compliance culture by working proactively with the business line/global function, Business Risk and Control Management and other Risk/Compliance professionals to ensure that best practices are followed in accordance with the applicable laws, rules, regulations and internal policy
  • Support the team head to improve and maintain day-to-day to running of the compliance team at the Global/Regional/Country Level, ensuring efficient decision-making and tasks execution
  • Advise and guide assurance teams within Regional and Global Business Compliance teams on all Risk Compliance (RC) matters and to assist and help promote the development and effectiveness of the regional/country/global business assurance team activity
  • Support the Group's RC strategy by identifying, communicating and advising relevant business stakeholders on emerging issues and trends that could impact the Group's management as appropriate of RC risk
  • Conduct impact analysis and advice on regulatory change; driving co-ordination and execution of the various Regulatory Compliance change work streams and embedding Operating Model changes while ensuring alignment with Global Standards
  • Establish management and administrative procedures and processes for own function or region/country, to ensure adherence to policies and manage operational risk, with due consideration to both HSBC and area or Global/Regional/Country activities

 

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

 

  • ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­A solid background in regulatory compliance advisory within a financial services environment, strong knowledge of US banking regulations and regulatory expectation
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, related field or equivalent experience; Master’s degree and/or Juris Doctorate (JD) is a plus
  • Familiarity with sustainability finance, ESG frameworks (eg: green bonds, sustainability-linked loans) and climate risk considerations with exposure to cross-border regulatory frameworks
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, communications, analytical and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive with minimal direction and exhibit collaborative skills when working as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and writings skills, able to synthesize complex information and situations into targeted messaging for a range of partners
  • Able to efficiently learn and apply new or unfamiliar concepts, make sound decisions and influence a wide range of partners
  • Proficiency with personal computers and software packages including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
