We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join the Enterprise Risk Management team as a US Strategic Risk Steward. The individual will support in establishing the Strategic Risk Steward function and be responsible for coordinating a wide range of Risk Steward activities for the US.
As a US Strategic Risk Steward, you will:
- Support US Strategic Risk Stewards in key governance forums
- Coordinate, monitor, challenge and reporting of Strategic Risk Appetite and related metrics and indicators
- Provide subject matter expertise, advice, guidance, and effective challenge to the Risk and Control Owners
- Coordinate challenge of the first line control and risk owners to ensure that Strategic risk management activities for Strategic Direction, Strategic Execution, and Strategic Failure Risks are working effectively
- Support in providing insights from the internal and external environment on the risk and control profile, including Risk Map, Top and Emerging Risk
- Support Global Strategic Risk Stewards in writing, owning, and monitoring compliance with Strategic Risk related policies, including that any local regulatory obligations are met and maintained
- Support definition of the Risk Taxonomy and Control Library (RTCL) for Strategic Risk, including minimum control standards, with input from Risk Owners, and Control Owners, specifying key risks and key controls and providing guidance on continuous monitoring expectations
- Recommend Risk and Control Assessment scoping, and challenge where this is not appropriately applied in the Risk and Control Assessment
- Challenge Risk and Control Owners on risk and control management, including inherent risk, residual risk, control effectiveness ratings, issues, actions and events
- Support execution of Capital Management, Scenario Analysis Stress Testing processes for Strategic Risk
- Engage and provide oversight of Material Change Initiatives, ensuring that the risk and control impacts are managed in line with the Risk Management Framework with a view to supporting the delivery of desirable to outcomes for our customers
- Support, guide and lead in targeted reviews
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role
- Relevant Strategic Risk knowledge and experience working in multiple legal entities
- Demonstrable experience and understanding of relevant policies and frameworks, including:
- Strategic Risk related policies and frameworks, including Strategic Planning, Change (Project) Management and Recovery and Resolution Planning
- Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Management Framework
- Experience and/or understanding with operating as an Independent Risk Steward
- Demonstrable experience of challenging views with courageous integrity to do the right thing
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple outputs at one time
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience in a complex global environment
- Experience of working with Operational Risk, Internal and External Audit
- Excellent business writing, communication, presentation and influencing skills
- Has developed a high level of professionalism and competency which helps to determine solutions around appropriate risk measures, risk processes, risk monitoring and management
- Communication and interpersonal skills
