HSBC’s transaction banking business, Global Payments Solutions (GPS), is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager to lead our Cross Border Cross Currency (CBCC) product development initiatives. In this role, you’ll be pivotal in driving the strategy, development, and execution of strategic, innovative payments projects. You will be crucial to the enhancement of our currency clearing and international payment capabilities, with a keen focus on further improving the client experience for our US and global customers.

 

The successful candidate will help orchestrate innovative payments product development, connecting the CBCC business with our operations and technology partners to ensure delivery of scalable, secure, and client-centric solutions, as well as ensuring front line readiness for new and evolved products.

 

As our Senior Project Manager - Cross Border Cross Currency Product Team you will:

 

  • Lead and manage strategic and tactical projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory mandates. Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of projects, balancing scope, schedule, budget, risks, team, outcomes, and benefits
  • Utilize extensive experience in US dollar clearing systems such as Fedwire, CHIPS, SWIFT, and associated ISO standards to enhance client and project outcomes as well as ensure compliance with domestic and international payment requirements
  • Leverage knowledge of international payments, including transactional Foreign Exchange (FX) products, to support strategic initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build client-centric, scalable, and resilient solutions
  • Engage with stakeholders across onshore and offshore teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to deliver end-to-end solutions. Provide regular updates to CBCC and GPS management on program status
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and dependencies, taking proactive measures to minimize impact and ensure successful project delivery
  • Advocate for continuous improvement and innovation, utilizing analytics, client feedback, and frontline insights to drive enhancements in project execution and client satisfaction

 

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

 

You’ll likely have the following qualifications and experience to succeed in this role:

 

  • Experience in project management and/or product development, with a strong track record of delivering complex projects in a matrixed environment across multiple countries
  • Experience in US dollar clearing payment systems (Fedwire, CHIPS, SWIFT) and a solid understanding of international payments, including transactional FX products and ISO 20022 standards
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to make decisions independently and drive a high-performance culture
  • Experience in Agile project management, with certifications such as PMP or Agile Product Manager/Owner being a plus
