The Senior Business Analyst (SBA) supports the US Regulatory Reporting change delivery and system maintenance (including RWAs), providing end-to-end business analysis across change initiation, requirements definition, process and control design, testing support, implementation and benefits realization.

The SBA will help deliver regulatory reporting change driven by Basel III reforms and ongoing regulatory developments issued by the Federal Reserve Board (FRB), Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) (the “US Agencies”). The role ensures impacts to calculations, processes, data sourcing, controls, and regulatory deliverables/submissions are assessed, documented, governed and embedded sustainably.

As part of the Regulatory Reporting Value Stream, the SBA partners with Finance, Technology and Operations to ensure solutions meet business needs, align to Group standards, and strengthen the integrity of regulatory reporting controls.

As our Senior Business Analyst, you will: 

Business analysis & requirements (core)

•   Lead the elicitation, analysis and documentation of high-quality business requirements, including functional and non-functional requirements, data requirements, reporting requirements and control requirements

•  Produce and maintain key BA artefacts, including: process maps and process design documentation,business rules and calculation logic documentation (where applicable),   data lineage / sourcing documentation (as required) impact assessments and traceability matrices

•  Translate regulatory and policy requirements into clear, testable requirements and user stories (where Agile is used)

•  Partner with Technology to ensure requirements are understood, solution options are assessed, and trade-offs are clearly articulated for decision-making

Solution shaping, testing and implementation support

•  Support solution design by validating proposed changes against business intent, regulatory expectations and operational feasibility

•  Define and support testing approach and execution, including:  test scenario design and test case creation, support for SIT/UAT, defect triage and prioritization,  validation of outcomes against requirements and expected results

•   Support training, cutover planning and implementation activities to ensure changes are embedded into BAU processes

Data integrity, controls and regulatory reporting quality

• Support validation of the integrity and quality of inputs and data sources used for regulatory reporting processes

•   Assist in monitoring progress of data quality issue remediation plans and ensure requirements address root causes (not just symptoms)

•  Contribute to strengthening the control environment by: documenting business process controls, supporting syndication/approval with Risk Stewards, Risk Owners, Controls Office and Control Owners (as applicable),  ensuring control requirements are built into process and solution design

•   Support internal/external audit and assurance reviews relevant to regulatory reporting change delivery (e.g., evidence preparation, walkthrough support, action tracking)

Governance, stakeholder management & communication

•  Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Technology, Operations, Risk and Compliance

•  Support governance cadence by preparing materials (status, RAID, decisions required), tracking actions and ensuring follow-through

•   Provide clear, concise updates on scope, requirements, dependencies, risks and issues; escalate appropriately through the US Head of Regulatory Reporting Change Delivery

Standards, compliance & operational risk

•  Deliver BA work in line with agreed change delivery methodology and Group Standards

•   Ensure changes maintain internal and external compliance by engaging Compliance and other control functions as required and ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained

•   Identify operational risks and control gaps introduced by change; ensure mitigations are captured in requirements and delivery plans. Governance, stakeholder management and communication

Leadership & Teamwork 

• Operate as a senior individual contributor who can run workshops, facilitate discussions, interact with senior leaders and drive outcomes with minimal supervision

•  Handle complex business needs and/or compressed deliverable timelines driven by regulatory milestones.

•   Seek ways to improve BA practices, documentation quality, and stakeholder experience

• Maintain a flexible approach to working hours when required by delivery milestones and regulatory timelines

You´ll likely have the following skills to succeed in this role:

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience

•  Strong knowledge/experience in Basel capital requirements calculation and financial/regulatory reports

•  Strong understanding of the project lifecycle and methodologies, especially Agile

• Strong analytical, interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills

•  Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliverables, working independently with appropriate escalation

•  Strong facilitation skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders

•  MBA, CA, CWA, CS, CPA, CFA or relevant change/project certification

•   Experience in Basel Capital Requirements / RWA, especially derivatives (CCR)

•  Treasury operations and/or Capital, Liquidity and Interest Rate Risk Management experience

•  Experience working cross-border in a multinational organization

• Financial product knowledge; data management and analysis experience

Your final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
