As a manager you will play a supporting role in strengthening HSBC’s risk and control environment. You will support and govern simplification across control activities, ensuring robust, accurate and consistently applied frameworks, policies, and procedures. Working closely with risk, business, and infrastructure teams, you will help deliver best practices, and deliver sustainable, risk-appropriate outcomes that support and demonstrate our risk management framework.

 

As our Manager US Chief Control Office Enablement, you will:

 

  • Provide senior stakeholders with actionable risk insights and reports, supporting informed, risk-based decision-making
  • Lead and document reviews, draft governance papers with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
  • Oversee global risk culture assessments and ensure financial and non-financial risk plans align with risk appetite and strategic objectives
  • Evaluate the risk and control data landscape, ensuring data accuracy, cost efficiency, and clarity in reporting
  • Contribute to governance forums and key papers, promoting a strong risk culture and continuous improvement
  • Establish and nurture effective partnerships across risk, business, and infrastructure teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and risk awareness

 

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

 

  • Extensive experience in operational risk and control management, with a thorough understanding of financial and non-financial risk frameworks (e.g., operational, conduct, compliance, credit, market risk)
  • Demonstrated expertise in process re-engineering and improvement initiatives, ideally with Six Sigma or equivalent qualifications
  • Proven ability to eliminate ambiguity and deliver operational and simplification enhancements
  • Highly accurate, driven self-starter, able to think front to back in terms of approach and processes
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust in complex environments
  • Confident communicator, skilled at presenting risk insights and recommendations to diverse audiences
  • Analytical skills, including high proficiency in Excel and familiarity with control libraries and performance analytics
  • Experience in Gen AI applications for process improvement is advantageous

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
