The Wholesale Enterprise and Resilience Senior Risk Steward is an exciting opportunity that will be part of the Enterprise Risk Management function. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Bank’s Risk Management Framework within the UK Ring-Fenced Bank (UK RFB) to ensure the effective identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring of non-financial risks and ensure Resilience risks are managed within appetite.  This is a pivotal role that will require close collaboration with senior management and various departments and will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the Bank’s risk management culture. 

 

In this role you will:

  • Lead the delivery of thematic reviews into concern areas across Resilience risks within Wholesale business, UK RFB.
  • Provide robust review and challenge to 1LoD throughout the delivery of key Bank, Line of Business and Brand change / product initiatives.
  • Develop tooling and methodology to support a coordinated and consistent delivery of work against the Team’s strategic objectives.
  • Lead the completion of, or supporting SMEs in, deliverables related to internal policy and external regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present, where required, regular risk reporting papers / presentations utilising risk management data as applicable.
  • Support with operational risk reporting such as, risk maps, risk appetite and emerging risk etc.
  • Provide advice, guidance and challenge to 1LoD across the management of Resilience risks within Wholesale, UK RFB completing Helios Review and Challenge on relevant risks, controls, issues and events as required.
  • Provide advice, guidance and challenge to 1LOD in respect of their adoption of the Risk Management Framework and the identification, assessment and management of risks in line with that framework, ensuring that any risks which are not within appetite are remediated sustainably. 

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • First or second line experience demonstrating thorough risk management knowledge in relation to Wholesale Banking.
  • Deep and proven SME knowledge within one or more Resilience risk area (Technology and Cyber Security, Data, Third Party, Transaction Processing, Change Execution, Facilities Availability and Business Interruption).
  • Experience of leading assurance reviews, including scoping work, undertaking testing and communicating findings.
  • In depth knowledge and experience of implementing and managing non-financial risk frameworks.
  • Ability to advise and challenge the first line of defence to ensure they fulfil the requirements to manage Resilience risks within appetite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels

 

This role is based in Birmingham on a hybrid working basis.
