We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Strategic Cost Manager.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate and support the cost management and analytics underpinning the Bank’s performance and strategy, primarily focused on the cost base of the Commercial Banking division (CMB), however, you may be required to engage on common cost stream themes and initiatives within the Strategic Cost Management (SCM) team.
- Provide analytics enabled business partnering approach to plan / budget future expenditure and investment.
- Ensure cost budget owners deliver upon their budgeted commitments, identify opportunities for improved productivity, and assess the success of investments made through investment case reviews and that they are strategically aligned through the planning process.
- Lead, motivate and inspire a team of 2 x GCB5 Cost Managers.
- Continuously improve internal processes by identifying and implementing automation opportunities.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Demonstrable strategic cost management experience is essential.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Forecasting and budgeting experience.
- Business partnering experience within a finance function.
- Experience of directing, engaging, motivating, and leading a team.
- Collaborative, engaging, credible and methodical; being able to bring the policy, strategy, initiatives, and narrative to life (e.g., presenting management information to a wide range of stakeholders/ senior management).
- Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders (all levels of seniority, businesses, and geographies).
The base location for this role will be Birmingham and with a hybrid working pattern.
