The Senior Financial Education Consultant role is based in Customer Propositions and Marketing, within Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB). The key objective of the Senior Financial Education Consultant will be to contribute to the delivery of the societal purpose vision of reaching 1 million young people with meaningful financial education through our financial capability programmes and partnerships.
As Senior Financial Education Consultant you will lead the strategy to engage senior schools and councils in our Smart Money Certificate (council programme), getting schools signed up to the qualification which is delivered by teachers and by the HSBC education team. The role will also drive the overarching digital strategy to engage schools in live BAU session delivery as well as supporting on-demand learning at home.
In addition this role will support education events, including but not limited to Bring Your Child to Work Day and Council Teach-ins as well as #Merky and Young Enterprise partnership events.

In this role you will:
- Lead the strategy to engage councils and senior schools in the activation of the Smart Money Certificate. This will involve management of a team to support them in engaging councils as well as driving direct to school strategies to get over 200 schools signed to the programme.
- Own and project manage the delivery programme for the Smart Money Certificate, working with direct reports to ensure each signed school is closely project managed and supported with the numbers of young people recorded on a weekly cycle..
- Manage the tracker for signed schools ensuring clear line of sight of sessions being delivered by teachers in schools as well as managing HSBC lead sessions within the financial education certificate.
- Support the development and delivery of the digital strategy outside of the Certificate programme – to build a pipeline and engage large schools for ad hoc digital session delivery. Working with the operational and delivery teams to ensure the correct governance is in place / allocate delivery resource.
- Support when needed the delivery of the Smart Money Certificate HSBC delivered sessions as well as broader BAU digital education delivery for primary and secondary schools / youth groups.
- Own the feedback cycle in understanding how the Certificate programme is received within schools as well as working with direct reports to ensure that the pre and post module assessments are carried out by students.
- Ensure on-demand learning content is kept up to date on the public web site and support in upload of new content.
- Manage digital reporting including but not limited to engagement tracking of video content and downloads via the public web site as well as tracking reach / visitor numbers.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Excellent written, digital and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences.
- Experience of proactive project management and leadership.
- Experience of developing digital communications for a professional / business audience and ideally of working in educational organisations.
- Experience working with stakeholders to develop new materials as well as to build support for propositions / projects.
- Experience of working within collaborative teams, leading on both delivery and strategy,
- Confident in building relationships by email, by phone and in person with strong account management skills to keep track of commitments with schools and councils
- Knowledge or experience of working with young people and an understanding of the education system
