We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of SEO Manager, Business Banking

 

HSBC UK Commercial Banking helps businesses thrive, from start-ups and SMEs to large corporates and international clients. Our marketing team plays a critical role in ensuring our digital presence meets the evolving needs of our business banking audience, helping customers find the right products, insights, and solutions to grow.

 

We are seeking an experienced SEO Manager to lead the development and execution of our organic search strategy for the HSBC Commercial Banking website, with a focus on attracting and engaging business banking customers. This role is pivotal in enhancing visibility, driving high-quality traffic, and improving content discoverability for key audiences across the business banking spectrum, including sole traders, SMEs, and mid-market enterprises. You will work within the Digital Marketing Channels team within the Commercial Banking Marketing team and collaborate closely with content strategists, digital product owners, analytics, paid media teams, and external SEO agencies. The role holder will look at traditional search and the emerging AI search opportunity.


In this role, you will :

 

  • Develop and implement a best-in-class SEO strategy for Business Banking to drive business growth and lead SEO audits and identify opportunities to improve technical, on-page, and off-page SEO.

 

  • Collaborate with digital content teams to guide SEO-friendly content creation, keyword targeting, and content optimization, partner with developers and UX teams to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into website structure and performance.

 

  • Monitor and report on SEO performance, keyword rankings, traffic, and conversion impact using tools like Google Search Console and SEMrush

 

  • Provide insight-driven recommendations based on competitor analysis, search trends, and customer behaviour specific to business audiences.

 

  • Manage relationships with external SEO agencies and ensure delivery aligns with HSBC brand and compliance standards and work with compliance and legal teams to ensure all content and technical implementations meet regulatory and brand requirements

 

  • Contribute to the development of SEO KPIs and support business cases for digital enhancements through SEO performance forecasting

 

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

  • Proven experience in a hands-on SEO role, ideally in a B2B or financial services environment with a strong understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and current SEO best practices.

 

  • Experience with technical SEO, including site speed, crawlability, indexation, structured data, and mobile-first design.

 

  • Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, or similar.

 

  • Demonstrated experience in optimizing websites for business or commercial audiences.

 

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate SEO insights into actionable marketing strategies and experience working within a matrixed organization and managing cross-functional stakeholders.

 

  • Understanding of digital compliance and risk in a regulated industry like financial services and ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

This is a hybrid role and can be based in London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds or Chester
