The role is a key member of the Risk team within Wealth & Premier Solutions (WPS) and is in place to support the Head of WPS UK in the management of operational risk and the monitoring of internal controls. These cover WPS and also Private Bank as well as Marks & Spencer Unit Trust Managers (MSUTM) and General Insurance

In this role you will:
- Deliver and manage Operational Risk Management through WPS ensuring the relevant risks are identified, and that effective controls are in place to protect the business
- Support and oversee the continual monitoring, and reassessment where necessary, of the effectiveness of the controls operated by WPS
- Carry out a rolling program of deep dives on deficient controls to ensure the underlying processes are operating effectively, and where any are assessed as needing improvement implementing action plans to address any deficiencies.
- Support key operational risk activities such as Trigger Event Reviews, Root Cause Analysis and RCA refreshes.
- Be responsible for co-ordination / management of responses to WPS wide issues and information requests, including audits and other internal requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Extensive experience working in an operational risk environment covering either 1st or 2nd Line of Defence - essential
- Experience of working either in a Private Bank or Wealth Management environment - desirable
- A track record of gaining an understanding of customers' needs and delivering excellent customer service.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences.
- Ability to influence and gain buy-in from stakeholders including senior managment
- An understanding of regulatory requirements relating to Wealth and Insurance products, and their impact of risk management - essential
This role is based in Birmingham or Whiteley
