Job description

If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC, and fulfil your potential - whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or an exciting new direction, we offer opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We are currently seeking a Product Owner – Third Party Risk (OBKYS).

The Onboarding and Know Your Supplier (OBKYS) Value Stream has been established to deliver common, group-wide supplier onboarding and Know Your Supplier capabilities and services. It brings together business, operations and technology colleagues to co-design and build solutions that enable HSBC to engage third parties quickly, safely, and in line with regulatory and policy expectations.

To accelerate achieving our vision, we are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join the OBKYS value stream. The role will be UK based but will work with teams globally.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you will:

  • Work with Business Leads and delivery teams to lead the design and implementation of the strategy as part of the overall OBKYS FSA Implementation
  • Build effective senior stakeholder relationships at Sponsor and business-line level. Constructively challenge status quo, think outside the box, and support stakeholders through innovative propositions
  • Understand and research market trends for the management of suppliers, follow best in class processes and feel empowered to apply these in house whilst meeting the Bank’s FSA
  • Responsible for the ownership and execution of the OBKYS roadmap and associated deliveries, including the long-term vision and the use of latest technologies and testing
  • Facilitate creation of components that are cost-effective, align to Bank-wide strategy and where appropriate are reusable across OBKYS
  • Plan and manage the delivery of initiatives with the business and technology product teams with consideration of delivery targets, governance activities, and business benefits

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a digital, technical or user-centric product/delivery role (Delivery Lead, Product Owner, or similar)
  • Extensive experience in planning and managing technical, business and governance deliveries to achieve the desired outcome
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, process design, and requirements gathering skills along with knowledge of Project Management, Business Analysis, and/or Software Development Lifecycle—ideally in an Agile / Scrum environment
  • Ability to identify intended benefits and outcomes to assist in prioritisation and demonstrate excellent decision-making skills to inform roadmap development
  • Strong background in supplier onboarding, third-party due diligence / third-party risk management (TPRM), supplier KYS, or similar control-led onboarding products
  • Ability to positively influence, engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including suppliers / vendors and internal product teams
