We‘re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Portfolio Credit Risk Manager, Current Accounts.
This is an opportunity to join our high-performing team supporting Retail Banking Wealth (RBW) initiatives across HSBC, M&S Bank and First Direct. This is your opportunity to contribute to strategic direction, lead high-impact portfolio initiatives and shape the future of unsecured lending across the credit lifecycle. In this role you will:
• Manage a team of analysts and their deliverables on a day-to-day basis, ensuring high quality deliveries and team members receives the support and coaching they need
• Develop, enhance and maintain credit risk strategy for unsecured retail portfolios, ensuring strategies are robust, customer focused and aligned to risk appetite and business objectives
• Lead end-to-end portfolio initiatives from concept through governance to implementation and benefits tracking
• Provide senior oversight of portfolio performance, identifying emerging risks/opportunities and driving timely interventions to deliver sustainable, responsible growth
• Influence and challenge effectively using clear, evidence-based insights to drive better portfolio outcomes in alignment with overall business goals
• Strengthen governance and controls ensuring risks and issues are identified, tracked and resolved transparently, with high quality documentation
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Essential experience in Retail Credit Risk, with expertise in credit strategy and/or portfolio management
• Previous of experience of coaching and leading a team
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross functional programmes and deliver measurable outcomes
• Strong analytical capability and technical fluency with the judgement to translate analysis into clear strategic decisions
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a track record of influencing senior leaders and navigating governance effectively
