We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of National Payments Vision Lead.

 

We have a bold ambition to truly excel in Payments, and you’ll be part of a team at the forefront of that by defining and executing our National Payments Vision (NPV) strategy, coordinating our response to NPV initiatives, and ensuring that HSBC brings its full experience to delivering the next generation of payments experiences and infrastructure for our customers. A key part of this will be entail working across our UK organisation to create clear strategic aims and representing these for HSBC in external forums.

In this role you’ll:

 

  • Lead the coordination and delivery of our NPV strategy, driving market leadership through next-generation customer experience and infrastructure initiatives
  • Provide strategic leadership to embed UK Retail & Wealth’s ambitions, drive team engagement, and role model our leadership principles and culture
  • Represent HSBC in external forums regarding the NPV
  • Champion an inclusive environment that reflects our values and brand, fostering collaboration and diversity
  • Build capability and deliver key outcomes by working effectively across matrix teams and facilitating progress towards objectives
  • Manage and develop relationships with key industry bodies (e.g., BOE, UK Finance, FCA, HMT), actively engaging external organisations to identify market trends and improvement opportunities

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

  • Proven expertise in Payments, with a track record of leading teams to deliver strong customer, commercial, and conduct outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to set strategic direction, influence stakeholders beyond direct reporting lines, and drive results across complex matrix organisations
  • Extensive experience managing industry engagements to achieve optimal outcomes across the Payments landscape, with a deep understanding of current and emerging regulatory requirements
  • Skilled at building and nurturing effective networks across business areas, fostering relationships based on trust, and encouraging collaboration at all levels
  • Adept at establishing productive partnerships with external organisations to support business objectives and industry alignment
  • Confident communicator, able to present complex issues simply to executive audiences, and highly adaptable under pressure in fast-changing, high-stakes environments
