The UK Channels business has embarked on a journey to enable HSBC UK to become the UK’s most loved bank. The exciting and emerging Access to Banking & Cash channel plays a key role in delivering against this ambition, and will change the way the nation banks through frictionless, convenient journeys supporting our customers’ banking needs when and where they need us. 

 

We are currently seeking someone to join our team in the role of: Head of HSBC Local.

 

The role holder will be a critical member of the Access to Banking & Cash leadership structure, working closely with the Head of Access to Banking & Cash to deliver against the wider strategic ambitions of the business, whilst also being responsible for leading the delivery of the HSBC Local strategy including journey management, and cross-functional partnerships.  Being the channel that goes to our customers to support their needs, rather than waiting for them to come to us.

In this role you will:

  • Lead end-to-end journey management for HSBC Local, owning outcomes, risk and cost management, and everything in-between. 
  • Be the high-profile face of the HSBC Local proposition, working in collaboration with the HSBC Channels’ regional leadership teams to deliver against our strategic ambitions, identifying and executing growth opportunities through an agile approach including the delivery of playbooks for events
  • Lead the proposition development for HSBC Local, building the capability and features of HSBC Local across multiple pillars, focused on bringing HSBC to our customers via differentiated delivery approaches, locations and formats. Aligned to the commercial goal of growing our customer base, particularly our Premier customers and identifying Wealth referral opportunities
  • Responsible for agreeing collateral / budget / implementation roadmap and activation of HSBC Local proposition across the pillars, including the delivery of exceptional events to the professional and premium standard expected of HSBC UK
  • Drive the commercial growth of HSBC Local, through partnerships with International Desk, Premier Teams, Wealth Management, EBS, Business Banking, Product, Marketing and Partnerships – developing strategic campaigns that deliver returns and will unlock opportunity, efficiencies, new revenue streams, commercial growth, and innovation
  • Work with brand partnerships team to ensure coordinated runway of events over the year in collaboration with headline partnership events such as the Open, HSBC Championships at Queens, Goodwood
  • Regularly review performance data to ensure the HSBC Local proposition is meeting the set objectives, including good customer outcomes, customer experience (NPS), Risk, and Growth measures.  Implement interventions and actions to close gaps identified
  • Develop a market leading business development team to build a HSBC Local runway quarter-on-quarter, driving a high-performing, entrepreneurial mindset for HSBC Local

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience in delivering exceptional, high-end events to Mass Affluent customers with a strong understanding of the key trends and areas of partnerships which influence the way we interact and engage with our customers, internal and external stakeholders and audiences
  • A broad-based background at senior leadership level, with a proven track record of delivering strategy which delivers good customer outcomes and improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
  • Business Development: Lead with an entrepreneurial spirit, thinking like a customer and acting like a business owner to challenge the status quo, break down barriers, and deliver sustainable growth
  • Demonstrate a Growth Mindset: commercially driven with a strong understanding of what it means to optimise customer demand, develop cost-efficient channels, create more value for less, and develop compelling Return on Investment
  • Strong experience analysing customer insight, acting at pace, delivering through and influencing others, strong stakeholder management and breaking down barriers to lead the market and find better ways to operate

 

This is a Hybrid role, with 60% of your time being spent in Birmingham, Chester or Leeds. National travel will be required in line with business requirements..
