We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Business Finance Partner, CMB UK.
This role will give you the opportunity to support and partner with the UK Commercial Banking (CMB) Executive team leaders to grow the business competitively while delivering sustainable target returns. The role offers the chance to work closely with various departments, including Finance, Wholesale Risk, and Infrastructure support, to achieve targeted business outcomes. Additionally, the role provides opportunities for career development and mobility within the HSBC UK Finance department, which encompasses a wide range of functions such as Treasury, Financial Control & Tax, and Business Partnering. This environment fosters the broadening and deepening of experience and skill sets, with successful colleagues having the opportunity to pursue future Director positions.
In this role, you will:
- Supporting the UK CMB Executive team leaders to grow the business competitively while delivering sustainable target returns.
- Partnering with colleagues in Finance, Wholesale Risk, and Infrastructure support to achieve targeted business outcomes
- Engaging in financial and non-financial data analysis to assess product performance, identify trends, and model future performance outcomes.
- Participating in the annual planning cycle, stress testing modelling, and delivering external financial and regulatory reporting outcomes.
- Supporting CMB product heads and their teams on performance, pricing, growth opportunities, and investment cases.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Qualified Finance Professional: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
- Finance Business Partnering: Demonstrable experience of Business Partnering within a Finance function.
- Financial Modelling and Storytelling: Experience in applying approved financial model techniques (e.g., forecasting, forming business cases), ensuring a sound control environment, and being attentive to detail.
- Financial Analytical Thinking: Demonstrable experience of being able to identify patterns and relationships, evaluate information objectively, and create impactful financial storytelling is essential.
- Relationship Building and Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain valuable relationships with stakeholders, exemplified through empathy, emotional intelligence, and transparent communication. Experience in negotiating, resolving conflicts, and networking effectively is crucial.
- Problem Solving: Experience in critical thinking and gathering information from various sources to support well-informed decisions. You should be able to challenge assumptions, think creatively, and drive conclusions and outcomes.
- Decision-Making Support: Experience in supporting data-informed decisions that align with organisational goals and are relevant in the commercial context. You should have a commercial awareness and the ability to communicate the basis of decisions effectively.
The base location for this role will be Birmingham and with a hybrid working pattern.
