We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Business Development Manager, Working Capital & Trade Solutions.

 

The base location of this role can be Castle Donington or Leicester, operating a Hybrid working model. This role will involve meeting clients in person so travel will be required.

 

The Business Development Manager will have primary responsibility for identifying, negotiating and developing client relationships to drive revenue. This role will primarily identify sales opportunities for our Trade Solutions product suite, however there may be future opportunities to support with Receivable Finance.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in establishing new business relationships and strengthening existing ones, whilst ensuring fair outcomes for all types of customers.
  • Assist in the communication of new products, propositions and relevant market information to customers
  • Proactively identify sales opportunities and ensuring these are developed
  • Support plans and strategies to generate new business for both ‘new to bank’ and existing HSBC Customers in order to achieve asset growth, sales or revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, which may include Relationship Managers, UK Business leadership and other product specialists, to maximise cross-selling opportunities for the bank
  • Participate in events, initiatives and activities to develop business opportunities
  • Protect the Bank's reputation and ensuring an acceptable risk profile, whilst deepening your understanding of the client through credit and customer due diligence reviews
  • Ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organisation.

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Working knowledge of Trade Finance/ Trade Solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of the market and market trends, competitive environment and regulatory environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of Financial Crime Risk and Credit Risk including techniques to mitigate risk.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a particular emphasis upon inspiring, influencing and negotiating in dealing with customers and colleagues.
  • Excellent range of communication skills, including written, verbal, and the ability to deliver compelling presentations.
  • Ability to interact with business customers at a senior and strategic level.
