Job Title: Vice President Trade Conduct and Finance Control Trade Conduct Controls
- The position is a people manager role servicing HSBC globally with conduct controls aiming to prevent and detect unauthorised trading, fulfil regulatory and audit requirements whilst delivering optimal execution for both clients and the bank on a global cross asset basis. Responsibilities also include the accountability for reporting SMMD and Volcker returns and supporting Regulatory documentation processes that include HKMA, EMIR, MIFID II, CFTC, SEC.
- Oversight of completeness reconciliations and Quality Assurance of benchmark reporting for SMMD, EURIBOR, EIBOR, SORA and HIBOR.
- The post will support managing the operation and controls as is today, but also support the strategy, articulation, and delivery of the target operating model for the TCFC team and process optimization and delivery.
- This role involves close engagement with stakeholders in the sites and offshore Operations, IT, Operations Management, Change Management, Regulatory Business Support, Client Management Group, Internal Audit, NFR, Front Office Trading and COO teams.
Governance and Committee Memberships (membership of ExCos, Risk Management Meeting)
- This role requires the participation in multiple stakeholder governance, monthly risk forums as part of the NFR framework alongside a suite of daily/weekly governance in managing the team’s daily activity and commitments.
In this role, you will:
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)
- Support the strategy and implementation of the standardized TCFC controls target operating model.
- Partner with senior business stakeholders to design and implement the Front to Back Operating Model to be adopted across all regions.
- Support the efficient and smooth running of day-to-day controls.
- Running daily / monthly controls; investigation & resolution of issues.
- Responding to ad hoc queries from various Audit, FO COO, Surveillance & Regulatory bodies.
- Ensuring quality assurance/testing gives us confidence in the quality of our controls.
- Support various new initiatives related to data governance and control, and support/establish necessary data governance practices.
- Influence and escalate issues in an effective way to ensure timely resolution.
- Lead, motivate and manage a team of finance professionals considering attritions, band progression, contingencies and expectations.
- Manage sourcing and hiring quality people into the team both internally and externally.
- Adherence to Group policies, audit, controls, and compliance requirements
- Ensure all SOPs (standard operating procedures) are in place and updated appropriately.
Leadership & Teamwork
- Lead a team of high performing individuals of c45fte
- Partner with peers located across the core Trading Hub locations
- Work in partnership with change to drive and deliver change funded initiatives and outcomes
- Partner with key stakeholders in Finance and Traded risk to manage service commitments
To be successful you will:
Functional Knowledge
- Experience in managing high end Accounting or Reporting & Analysis or finance and accounting activities.
- Experience in reconciling & substantiating traded markets products e.g. FX, fixed income, equities and derivatives.
- Experience of regulatory reporting obligations including Volcker, SMMD, CFTC, EMIR, MIFID, HKMA
- Strong Risk awareness and mitigation experience
- Experience in people management and team leadership preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Technically proficient in systems and in MS Office, particularly Excel. Knowledge of Trading and Market Data portals an advantage,
- Experience in Six Sigma/Lean / Agile methodology will be an advantage.
