Job Title: VP- Sales Shared Services Lead - Client Business CoE

This role forms an integral part of the overall sales support coverage model serving Asset Management clients and the sales teams. Based in Bangalore, the role will encompass responsibility to lead and continuously improve Sales Shared Services capabilities to support Sales and Client Servicing teams. The main aim is to maximize HSBC AM’s effectiveness in managing our client relationships and contribute in asset growth and retention. The role shall be responsible for delivery quality, capacity planning, controls, and stakeholder outcomes across shared service activities such as Client Reporting, DDQs/RFIs, Client Onboarding, Sales Support etc and related support for Institutional, Wholesale, ETF and Liquidity clients. The role shall require a client centric approach to business interactions as well as in-depth knowledge of HSBC AM’s solutions and strategies and the ability to assess product positioning to meet Client needs.

In this role, you will:

The role holder will be responsible for supporting the Client Business CoE Office in Asset Management

Service delivery ownership

  • Own end-to-end delivery for shared services scope, ensuring timely and accurate completion of deliverables
  • Set service standards (turnaround times, quality thresholds, prioritisation rules) and ensure consistent execution.

Transformational delivery

  • Work on the design and implementation of new ways of working to deliver capacity to support new business
  • Adoption of new tools and automation to minimise risk, gain efficiency and standardise tasks globally
  • Be a change champion to lead the team through a period of change

People leadership

  • Strategic, forward-thinking leader who inspires and motivates others to deliver strong outcomes—maintaining performance, collaboration, and sound judgement even under pressure

Operating model and continuous improvement

  • Design and run a scalable shared services operating model (intake, triage, workflow, approval points, escalation paths).
  • Drive standardisation automation opportunities.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements that reduce manual work and increase speed-to-client.

Capacity, planning, and performance management

  • Manage resourcing, workload balancing, and demand planning across shared services activities.
  • Establish and track KPIs (e.g., turnaround time, backlog, quality error rate, stakeholder satisfaction).
  • Provide regular performance reporting to the Head of Client Business CoE and senior stakeholders.

Stakeholder management and partnership

  • Act as primary point of contact for shared services requests and issue resolution.
  • Partner closely with Sales Dedicated Services Lead to align coverage, avoid duplication, and provide seamless support.
  • Build effective working relationships across regions/teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Understand, map client requirements, work with internal teams to deliver appropriate client experience

Risk, controls, and governance

  • Ensure processes operate within applicable controls and governance expectations (data handling, approvals, audit trail, record retention).
  • Proactively identify operational risks (e.g., inaccurate reporting, onboarding delays, inconsistent RFI responses) and implement mitigations.
  • Maintain documentation for processes, roles/responsibilities, and key controls.

  • Qualification - Post Graduation / MBA / similar qualification from a reputed institute
  • Overall experience of 10+ years or above preferably in the Asset Management and Capital Markets industry
  • Knowledge of financial markets, macro-economic environment, theory, trends, tools, and strategies
  • Knowledge and awareness of investment funds and mandates, investment products, markets, and business
  • Experience in Client Relationship Management, Client Servicing and Sales Support for Asset Management Clients
  • Experience in supporting Institutional Sales team and handling CRM tools in maintaining client relationship data.
  • Experience in handling Institutional client service requests – regular and ad-hoc.
  • Proven ability to prioritize workload effectively in line with business priorities.
  • Willingness to own work and problems and see through to completion and use own initiative to resolve issues.
  • Evidence of delivery in a similar role within a global organization would be an added advantage
