We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of VP - MSS Operations Non Financial Risk Assessment

In this role, you will: 

  • This is a leadership position which functionally reports into the NFR Head of Risk Assessments. The role holder will have people management responsibilities across a high performing team in the three Ops Hub locations. It will be part of the NFR Ops Hub management team and as such will attend relevant management forums.
  • The role holder will be accountable for supporting the delivery of all Risk Assessment activities; Developing and executing a robust global Risk Assessment plan comprising of: mandatory regulatory reviews, targeted reviews, migration reviews and post implementation reviews of continuous monitoring
  • Driving the transition of continuous monitoring across Markets Operations and executing the strategy of 2CM globally in Trading and Ops Hub locations.
  • Ensuring Risk Assessment activities are completed timely across the function and taking a lead role in launching activities and presenting results where required.
  • Performing reviews and acting as escalation across the ops hub team; Management of senior stakeholders (GCB2 and GCB3) in presenting output and agreeing findings; Connected globally across all lines of defence to ensure appropriate management of Non-Financial risks
  • Manage and execute the Markets and Securities Services NFR Risk Assessment Plan; Lead the transition to continuous monitoring and evolution of assurance strategies; Manage senior stakeholders across Markets Operations to ensure NFR activities are appropriately received
  • Ability to positively influence and effectively communicate with stakeholders across the business, multi task, manage disparate stakeholders, build consensus, and implement effective business solutions
  • Project management experience with the ability to lead working groups and project teams

To be successful you will:

  • A degree in banking / financial / management / business administration / accounting exposure
  • Strong knowledge of Markets Operations processes and trade lifecycle, understanding of Assurance practices.
  • Risk professional with at least 10 years’ combined experience in Banking Operations/Back Office Operations, Global Markets business (FX, Fixed Income and Equities), Operational Risk, Compliance or External/Internal Audit in a banking environment
  • People management experience and ability to manage a high performing team
  • Subject matter expert in Non-Financial Risk;Detailed knowledge of Markets Operations and the product specific trade lifecycle.
  • Analytical mind with mature judgment and decision making skills to identify exceptions in process handling.
  • Credible performer on global stage; Understanding of the key control points and risk inherent in the trade lifecycle
  • Organised, adaptable and self-driven to achieve collective information both formally and informally from Subject Matter Experts;Excellent relationship builder with strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and exacting standards, present information and recommendations to senior stakeholders
