We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of VP - Global Data Controls Design

Business: DAO Group Data Management Office

In this role, you will:

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)

Design Management:

  • Ownership and accountability of end-to-end delivery of Data Controls design for global or select markets, businesses, and functions
  • Understanding of industry patterns and practices for systems, data and integration with emphasis on enterprise scale technologies(cloud/non-cloud) and business managed tools
  • Experience in designing complex data programs in the domain of banking and Finance
  • Responsible for shaping up and tracking design guidelines / changes to bring business closer to data control goals
  • Responsible for presenting designs in governance forums and engaging with a Senior audience, for approvals and cascade and addressing concerns/ queries
  • Work closely with all representatives from Operations, Technology, Data and Business and Functions to collaborate on the data controls related topics
  • Influence the technology, tooling, architecture teams to build book-of-work for enhancements / changes required for Data Controls implementation.

Non-technology Delivery:

  • Closely coordinate with design office, controls office and audit for data design related risk and controls
  • Prioritize the design team Book-of-work for addressing MSIIs, issues, CRs
  • Support GDMO management reporting and RCMM reporting with required papers, presentations and analysis

Customer Experience:

  • Contribute to formulation of the strategy around the customer journey and the component parts of this to create a holistic customer experience by prudent expectation setting and management
  • Own the user experience for Data Management in support for data control design and implementation
  • Represent the data control design by understanding the requirements and developing appropriate controls supporting customer needs and wants

Stakeholder management:

  • Responsible to connect and coordinate with stakeholders from controls, Internal audit, DAO representatives from GB/GFs, IT Product owners, Global Technology, Architects to socialize the design principles and take it to closure with Design authority
  • Regular coordination with Operations team to stay connected on upcoming change triggers
  • Design and enable the data controls framework which is in line with risk appetite, policies, guidelines and regulations across the Bank. Set the strategic direction and metrics for tracking performance on an ongoing basis
  • Govern the data controls through right forums and approval authorities, engaging with Senior Leads for necessary approval and adoption
  • Collaborate with data operations and execution team to assist translation of policies into actionable steps
  • Collaborate with Technology, architecture and Data Management representatives from all Global Businesses (GB) / Global Functions (GF)/ Markets to help implement the data controls in line with the policies
  • Overall accountability for resolving data control related issues challenges triggered from data operations for Business/ Function/ Markets

  • Make a positive contribution to the Data Design Team’s effort to meet the GDMO’s objectives and help GB/GFs and Regions/Countries to meet their policy KCIs.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

Functional Knowledge

  • Knowledge of data uses and flows within a large diversified global bank
  • Experience of using new-gen technologies and storage systems
  • Knowledge of best practices in data quality monitoring and Issue management.
  • Knowledge of data quality metrics reporting and dashboard design
  • Knowledge of reporting tools and design requirements
  • Subject matter knowledge on data-related issues, solution, lineage tools
  • Cloud technologies, Business Managed Applications/ tools and working knowledge of AI and analytics
  • Root cause analysis and issue resolution

Others

  • Bachelors/ master’s in engineering/ technology, master’s in business administration/ computer applications/ Any other Relevant field
  • Experience with engagements involving specific areas of Data, Analytics, Architecture (Business / System / Data), System Implementations, Data Engineering, Process Transformation involving system change. [at least experience of some]
  • Experience with engaging with senior stakeholders & business partners from various Geographies across forums
  • Experience in Risk, Controls and Data related projects, while engaging with multiple Regions and Geographies
  • Working experience on some of the technologies like ETLs, EAI, Reporting, Dashboarding, analytics / advanced analytics tools
  • Working knowledge of Confluence, JIRA and exposure to Agile approaches.
  • Hands on experience of tools on Transformer / Xceptor / Appian / Alteryx etc.
  • Knowledge of data classification and related regulations
  • Exceptional navigating and influencing skills
  • A can-do attitude & ability to quickly translate business requirements to Data related activities to be undertaken
