This role is part of the Wealth & Premier Solutions (WPS) Global Product Services team, within the broader Private Banking & WPS Change Execution and WPS Business Management team, who partner with the WPS OpCo to drive the design and execution of horizontally connected end to end global product target operating models and frameworks, and lead the industrialisation of global WPS third party and market data management, to realise efficiencies, reduce risk, enhance governance and deliver improved client outcomes. The role covers the full scope of WPS products, platforms and propositions and provides the role holder opportunities to work with all WPS markets, other HSBC lines of business, and external third parties.
In this role, you will:
- Manage a global Wealth and Premier Solutions (WPS) and Private Bank (PB) market data management framework that ensures strict governance and control to maintain a strong cost discipline
- Identify and execute opportunities to drive efficiencies in market data consumption and deliver cost optimisation initiatives
- Develop a deep understanding of the market data (and its underlying data flows) used across WPS and PB to critically assess requirements in support of both strategic project design and delivery as well as end users, as an SME
- Act as the SPoC on all market data aspects as the core interface between the WPS and PB business and the HSBC Market Data Services (MDS) team
- Represent product owners and markets to deliver market data requirements through close liaison with the vendors and the HSBC MDS team
- Work hand-in-hand with the HSBC MDS team to understand PB and WPS’ global/local contractual obligations with providers to ensure timely feedback on data requirements, duplication or alternatives which drive efficiency
- Manage and enhance market data processes e.g. new/renewal contract engagements, new access requests, 90 day unused reviews, exits etc. to build out the market data target operating model
- Produce effective market data usage and cost management information that facilitates strategic decision making and that demonstrates continued optimization and value for money. Own the understanding and define the resolution of ad hoc market data issues as they arise
- Support the continued combination and simplification of the WPS business by seeking opportunities across every aspect of the role e.g. removal of market data duplication, contract consolidation etc.
To be successful you will:
- Detailed understanding of investment and retail banking product market data (uses, data flows, contracts, vendors etc.)
- Detailed understanding of Private Banking, Wealth Investment and Retail Banking products, and the platforms, capabilities and business processes that support their end to end lifecycle management
- Experience in writing procedures, operating instructions and / or frameworks
- Proven track record of delivery across multiple markets, with an understanding of Agile methodology and the change management lifecycle
- Experience in operating effectively in ambiguous and matrixed structures across countries and timeszones, with strong ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, operational risk, and front-to-back processes
- Experience of onboarding and managing external third parties
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills with a focus on delivering to high standards and quality as well as the ability to work autonomously
