Job title: Solution Architect
- This is a change-oriented role, responsible for Change Execution with two primary responsibilities (1) be the sub value stream lead, responsible for change execution in core operations, with an emphasis on the transformation of Data Management services; (2) responsible for Business as Usual (BAU) Change comprising Process discovery and creating Bow , Intelligent Automation Platform (IAP) function is to create a strategic capability that will help move the operational efficiency and agility dial quickly and deliver a good return on investment in terms of cost savings, capacity creation, risk reduction, improved client experience and enhanced employee engagement. IA incorporates Intelligent Automations, RPA (Robotic Process Automation), AI / ML reasoning, problem-solving, smart workflows and cognitive agents (bots) to streamline work processes and deliver results more quickly.
- The principal responsibility of this role is to lead the transformation of core operations enabling HSBC’s aim of growing the franchise globally and delivering a HSBC Asset Management is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to conduct Process discovery using the right framework and methodologies, process/ task mining and design and drive end-to-end business solutions across Asset Management operations, investment support, distribution, compliance, and reporting functions.
- The role will bridge business strategy, operating model transformation, and digital enablement, ensuring scalable, secure, automation-led and integration-ready solutions across enterprise platforms.
- We are currently looking for an experienced candidate to lead and develop the Business Transformation strategy and own all aspects of the operations, data management & Shared services portfolio including innovation, design, mobilization, defining and planning projects/programmes, execution and implementation, embedding change and benefits realization. The Portfolio Lead is responsible for deploying the HSBC Business Transformation Frameworks (BTF) within their portfolio and instilling good project/programme disciplines. The role holder will also be responsible for the Testing Center of Excellence (COE), and Business Architecture teams.
- HSBC Asset Management is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design and drive end-to-end business solutions across Asset Management operations, investment support, distribution, compliance, and reporting functions.

Key Responsibilities:
Process Discovery and Solution Architecture
- Solution Architecture translates business requirements into technical blueprints, ensuring scalability and security, while Process Discovery identifies, maps, and analyzes existing workflows to uncover bottlenecks.
- Understanding Existing Workflows: Analysing the current state of technology, software, and hardware to determine what needs replacement or improvement.
- Documenting Requirements: Mapping out business processes to create detailed, Process Design Document and Solution design documents.
- Uncovering Inefficiencies: Identifying bottlenecks and manual, redundant tasks suitable for automation.
- Gap Analysis: Assessing the difference between the current business processes and the desired future state, particularly in automation projects.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Gathering input from business users to understand the practicalities of the workflow.
- Bridge Between Business and Technology: SAs translate business needs into technical specifications and architectural designs.
- System Design & Selection: They create technical blueprints, including component specifications, integration plans, and technology stack selection.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Identifying potential technical issues early and ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards.
- Guiding Development Teams: Providing technical leadership and support during the implementation of the solution.
- Validation: Creating proofs of concept (POCs) and test plans to validate technical feasibility
Business & Architecture Strategy
- Partner with Asset Management business leaders to shape transformation roadmaps.
- Translate strategic priorities into target-state solution architectures.
- Define automation-led operating models and digital enablement frameworks.
- Provide architectural governance across multiple programs.
End-to-End Solution Design
- Develop and own HLDs, LLDs, integration diagrams, and solution blueprints.
- Architect cross-platform solutions covering workflow, data, reporting, and controls.
- Design reusable, scalable components aligned with enterprise standards.
- Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and risk standards.
- Automation & Intelligent Enablement - Architect and guide implementation using a broad automation ecosystem including:

Integration & Data Architecture
- Define API-led and event-driven integration patterns.
- Design integrations across:
- Fund accounting systems
- Transfer agency platforms
- CRM systems
- Data lakes & reporting warehouses
- Ensure data lineage, governance, and auditability.
- Collaborate with enterprise IT and cybersecurity teams.
Governance, Risk & Controls
- Align solutions with regulatory frameworks (MiFID, AML, FATCA, etc.).
- Participate in Architecture Review Boards.
- Ensure documentation traceability and audit readiness.
- Embed controls and monitoring into solution design.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
- Drive cross-functional alignment between Business, IT, Risk, and Operations.
- Mentor automation leads and solution designers.
- Lead vendor/platform evaluations where required
To be successful you will:
Experience:
- 12-15+ years overall, with 4-5 years of experience in BFSI industry preferably in Asset management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Technology (B.Tech) and Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent experience.
- 10-15+ years overall, with 4-5 years of experience in BFSI industry preferably in Asset management.
- Minimum 4–5 years hands-on experience in RPA / Intelligent Automation.
- Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural diverse work environments leading Operations and Shared Services/Asset Management transformation projects (system implementation and process improvement)
- Proven ability in successfully designing and implementing large-scale, complex global change initiatives with multiple stakeholders
- Strong understanding HSBC Group Transformation and Change Framework including governance, functional & operational knowledge and financial & resource management skills
- Proven ability to own and drive Business Architecture
- Proficient in Operations and Shared Services and/or Asset management domain knowledge front to back across Business, Technology and Operations
- Strong visionary thinking and leadership to be able to lead an experience Global Transformation team
- Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural diverse work environments leading Operations and Shared Services/Asset Management transformation projects (system implementation and process improvement)
- Proven ability in successfully designing and implementing large-scale, complex global change initiatives with multiple stakeholders
- Evidence of successfully managing financial plans with proven track record of optimizing transformation
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills and be able to work with all levels of management
- Qualified Agile Practitioner and/or PMP certification is desired
- Knowledge of Asset Management / Wealth Management value chain and operating models
- Familiarity with Financial instruments and their life cycle
- Experience of business analysis and target operating model analysis and definition
- Multi-disciplinary – Business Transformation Lead needs to be able to support the shaping of the business needs, provide inputs towards prioritization, solution designs and own all aspects of change delivery (stakeholders, process, policy, technology, data, infrastructure, vendor management) etc.
- Executing re-engineering efforts across geographies to maintain a global perspective on business transformation and re-engineering efforts
- The ability to devise efficient strategies to business challenges and provide execution leadership
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors
- Evidence of ability to make key strategic decisions
- Delivery of large-scale complex programmes at pace, developing high performing interchanging teams to support delivery at each stage
- Strong people and team management experience
- Knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, market trends, vendor landscape, competitors etc.
