Job Title: Senior WPS Global Product Services Manager - Wealth

In this role, you will:

This role is part of the Wealth & Premier Solutions (WPS) Global Product Services team, within the broader PB & WPS Change Execution and WPS Business Management team, who partner with the WPS OpCo to drive the design and execution of horizontally connected end to end global product target operating models and frameworks, and lead the industrialisation of global WPS third party and market data management, to realise efficiencies, reduce risk, enhance governance and deliver improved client outcomes. The role covers the full scope of WPS products, platforms and propositions and provides the role holder opportunities to work with all WPS markets, other HSBC lines of business, and external third parties.

The focus of the role is to:

  • Lead the end-to-end design, enhancement and governance of the WPS Global Product Operating Framework, unifying across Wealth, Private Bank and Retail products and defining WPS’s approach to product development, management and governance.
  • Drive product lifecycle management optimization with digital solutions and cross-functional alignment to deliver operational efficiency gains, audit actions and regulatory expectations.
  • Assess new global product applications to advise on operational readiness as part of the WPS product governance new product approval process
  • Serve as a key strategic partner to global product heads, 2LOD, and technology teams in building scalable, agile, and resilient product governance infrastructure
  • Drive global product simplification initiatives across WPS, and in collaboration with other HSBC lines of business
  • Design, operationalise and embed new WPS product target operating models that require cross HSBC line of business collaboration, implementation across multiple markets, implementation across multiple products, and / or interlocks with third party vendors to deliver joined up solutions, improve client experience and reduce risk
  • Review and optimise the WPS operating processes that span multiple markets, products and significant platforms for key metrics such as efficiency, digitisation maturity, risk etc. in order to ensure the business area is working effectively globally, and to support targeted investment opportunities
  • Manage the third party identification, onboarding, contracting and oversight processes for global third party engagements, and ensure alignment to the third party risk management framework
  • Manage and execute business change initiatives (not CTB funded), for the benefit of the central WPS teams across products
  • Work with Change Execution to support the delivery of the WPS strategic change and digitisation agenda as a business SME
  • Operationalise key WPS business outcomes through the use of the Agile Value Stream methodology and increase WPS accountability on commercial outcomes
  • Own the understanding and define the resolution of ad hoc issues as they arise that impact multiple markets and / or multiple products, relating to operating model, data, regulatory or contract/licence breaches, or other issue types as requested
  • Support the continued combination of the Wealth, Private Bank and Retail products business by seeking opportunities across every aspect of the role

 

To be successful you will:

  • Detailed understanding of Private Banking, Wealth Investment and Retail Banking products, and the platforms, capabilities and business processes that support their end to end lifecycle management
  • Detailed understanding of the product governance process
  • Experience in writing procedures, operating instrauctions and / or frameworks
  • Proven track record of delivery across multiple markets, with an understanding of Agile methodology and the change management lifecycle
  • Experience in operating effectively in ambiguous and matrixed structures across countries and timeszones, with strong ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, operational risk, and front-to-back processes
  • Experience of onboarding and managing external third parties
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills with a focus on delivering to high standards and quality as well as the ability to work autonomously
