We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Product Solutions Engineer
Business: Product Solutions and Strategic Execution
Principal responsibilities
- Support the creation of a safe and collaborative community in Product Solutions that shares knowledge, ways of working, tools and techniques across teams, disciplines, management and delivery.
- Seek opportunities for continuous improvement of business analysis and testing in our product development & software delivery methods and ways of working; Support and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within both the department and the wider company.
- Collaborate with our functional teams in the discipline to create consensus and alignment;Work with our other teams to align our approaches and support the SSv strategy execution, utilising analysis and facilitation skills.
- Work with teams and stakeholders to communicate and enforce business analysis standards and ways of working; Support our delivery leaders to embed the resourcing and structures necessary for effective delivery and improve our recruitment processes of analysts.
- Be an active participant in group ceremonies; Seek continuous improvement in our product building capabilities by supporting and encouraging closer collaboration between the disciplines, other product teams, and stakeholders.
- Understand the key organisational and operating model structure of SSv and the relevant domain aligned technology architecture blueprints; Understand our key business stakeholders and their product strategies and business direction; Understand our core customer segments and how their experiences relate to our business priorities and challenges.
- Work with the existing delivery directors and business analysts to build a high-level knowledge of the various business domains and products; Work with our line managers to understand the current state of our structure and management approaches; Work with other disciplines and leaders within user experience to understand the user experience and the relationship to the product teams.
- Support and guide Product Manager/Owner, creating epics, writing user stories and managing the product backlog for the most critical and complex Securities Services initiatives.
- Understand risk exposure to the bank and help senior colleagues manage it; Identify and gain an understanding of the most critical areas in which to focus your attention; Work with the DDI leadership to understand our strategic and tactical solutions.
- Build and maintain relationships with our other business analysis and solution design leaders across SSv and HSBC business lines, the other discipline leads and the delivery leads.
Qualifications:
- Financial Services experience, specifically senior change/operational role(s) in Securities Services or other relevant client change function; Previous experience as a Business Analyst or Test Practice Lead would be advantageous; Change delivery practices, including a working knowledge of a range of delivery practices including agile methodology.
- The ability to take ownership and deliver results in challenging, client-facing environments; Proven ability to apply business architectural principles, methods and tools to solve for business challenges.
- Demonstrated ability in integrating business knowledge with analytical insight. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; Excellent communication, presentation skills and ability to influence across organisation, motivate and negotiate with senior leaders and corporate office partners.
- Experience in direct and indirect people management with the ability to effectively coordinate the activities of multiple groups globally, including experience in managing other managers as well as individual contributors.
- Exceptional relationship management skills, with an ability to think strategically, manage complexity, significant change and multiple key priorities; Expertise in eliciting, analysing, prioritising and validating requirements and building partnerships with business stakeholders.
- A champion for our customers and work to develop a customer-centric culture within the business analysis discipline; An experienced facilitator who can bring disparate people together to create agreement and alignment.
- Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business, product, and delivery objectives and drive alignment between their strategies and analysis activities; You encourage data-driven decision making, experimentation, and fast feedback cycles.
- You are an advocate for agile approaches and extreme programming methods, including iterative delivery, trunk-based development, and Continuous Integration and Delivery.
- You have experience working with stakeholders and other disciplines to come up with creative solutions to their problems;You have a good command of English; collaboration is important in our day-to-day work, so being able to communicate your ideas and understand others is key.
- Agile Qualification and/or relevant experience; Experience of driving digital transformation and continuous improvement programmes with a focus on capability maturity, agility and cost efficiency ; Leading and motivating high performing global teams in multiple locations both on and offshore, including collaborating with remote colleagues and teams; Influencing and negotiating at Managing Director level within a similar commercial environment.
