Senior Fraud Manager
Bangalore, KA, IN, 560103
Job Title: Senior Fraud Manager
Our strategic vision for fraud management is centered on safeguarding our customers and the Bank from fraud risks, focusing on current and future threats while ensuring an optimal customer experience. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Senior Fraud Manager, leading strategy and initiatives to combat fraud across Asia Pacific markets, thereby protecting both customers and the bank from evolving fraud and scam threats.
We’re looking for a Senior Fraud Manager to lead the strategy and delivery of controls for 1st Party Lending Fraud (1PL) and to help build and operationalise Money Mule detection across our Asia Pacific markets. This is a high-impact role working with analytics, operations, product and transformation teams to turn fraud insight into practical controls that reduce losses and improve outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Set the 1PL fraud control strategy: Define what “good” looks like for prevention, detection and response across lending products and journeys, then drive execution.
- Design and improve controls: Build and refine controls to prevent and detect 1PL fraud and support disruption of mule activity, working closely with delivery teams to deploy changes into markets.
- Operationalise Money Mule detection: Partner with the Global Money Mules team to design and embed detection and disruption capabilities end-to-end, ensuring they work in day-to-day operations.
- Deliver change at pace: Lead implementation across fraud systems and operational processes, collaborating with Value Streams, Transformation Delivery, Product, Fraud Analytics, Money Mule Detection and Fraud Operations - removing blockers and keeping delivery moving.
- Be the SME for senior stakeholders: Provide clear, practical fraud risk advice on product changes and servicing journeys, identifying where new fraud risks could emerge and how to mitigate them.
- Monitor threats and drive continuous improvement: Stay on top of evolving typologies (including scams and emerging 1PL behaviours), investigate high-impact cases, identify control gaps and drive fixes.
- Bring an end-to-end view: Connect the dots across performance, incidents, regulatory expectations, emerging threats and control effectiveness to guide priorities.
- Lead through collaboration: Work closely with Financial Crime and Credit Risk colleagues, to drive the best outcomes.
- Shape the change portfolio: Contribute to the pipeline of fraud initiatives, including input to investment cases and tracking benefits delivered.
To be successful you will:
- Strong experience in fraud risk, with a solid understanding of fraud typologies, risks and controls (ideally including lending/credit-related fraud).
- Proven experience operating at Senior Manager level in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Track record of designing and implementing control frameworks and improving processes across multiple teams.
- Experience delivering controls and operational change within a large, multi-faceted organisation.
- Excellent stakeholder management, structured problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Strong governance skills—comfortable with paper writing, reporting and presenting to senior audiences.
- Ability to make strategic decisions using data-driven insights.
