We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Regulatory Reporting Team Leader.
In this role, you will:
- Role occupant has the responsibility to functionally lead a regulation within an asset class or a product control owner. It involves supporting regulatory changes, liaising with regulatory compliance, coordinating with internal/external auditors and working with business stakeholders.
- Collaborating and coordinating with the Global Regulatory Middle Office function to identify, escalate and potentially remediate issues and report defects. Devise strategies for the generation of periodic and ad-hoc Regulatory Reporting management information metrics.
- Delivering Global Control Framework activities for HSBC’s Global OTCD Trade Reporting Obligations. Interacting with Offshore / Onshore colleagues as part of daily controls.
- Understand HSBC’s Global Regulatory Obligations, System Infrastructure & Reporting Mechanisms as well as OTC Derivative Products and the OTCD Market and effectively implement this knowledge to identify reporting or operational inefficiencies and improve.
- An SME with leadership, oversight and management skills to drive a unified “one team” approach. Drive effective people management and operational processes. Support the Hub Head of Regulatory Reporting in delivering quality service lines and collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders in the process.
To be successful you will:
Functional Knowledge
- A degree in banking / finance / risk management / business and comprehensive knowledge of the main aspects of HKMA, CFTC, MAS, ASIC and EMIR trade reporting.
- Good understanding of end-to-end trade lifecycle of typical OTC Derivative products with previous experience in a risk / control environment (or similar) within an Investment Bank/Financial Institution.
- Technical understanding of how systems deliver regulatory reports, Trade Repository limitations and behaviors. Experienced in working with virtual / global teams and functional management
- Ability to challenge and question in a constructive manner with strong analytical & investigative skills. The ability to handle conflict and manage expectations. Self-motivated with proven ability to prioritize tasks, set targets, and meet deadlines with an organized and structured approach
- Strong leadership skills with ability to oversee and support direct reports with daily activities, identifying development opportunities. Knowledge of ETL tools (QlikView, Power BI) with coding skill in VBA, Python, SQL.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Macro / Pivot) Access, and SharePoint would be beneficial. Understanding of key aspects related to creation of meaningful MI dashboard and ability to present the same. Ability & experience to manage significant escalations and thrive under pressure.
