We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Sr. Associate Director, Software Engineering Specialist
Role Overview:
The Automation Engineering Operations POD Lead is responsible for leading a 24/7 Operations team that manages and supports automation APIs, ensuring high reliability, adherence to SLAs, and continuous reduction of Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR). This role requires strong collaboration with API owners across multiple teams, effective incident management, and a proactive approach to customer education and best practices adoption.
In this role, you will:
- Lead team of 10 to 12 DevOps/Infrastructure Engineers and guide them on automation engineering deliverables
- Lead and manage a 24/7 operations team responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting automation APIs.
- Bug fix and functionality enhancements of APIs
- Ensure all incidents and requests are handled within defined SLAs, with a focus on minimizing MTTR (Mean Time To Resolve) and maximizing API reliability.
- Collaborate closely with API owners, development, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues, drive root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
- Conduct regular customer awareness and training sessions to educate users on automation services, features, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles for the Operations team and end users.
- Provide regular reporting on SLA adherence, incident metrics, and service reliability to management.
- Promote Engineering led mindset through coaching, and mentoring.
- Keep up to date and have expertise on latest DevOps tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- 15 to 20 years of proven experience in IT operations, automation support, or API management in a 24/7 environment.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience in API development and scripting.
- Proficiency with DevOps tools such as Python, Ansible, Jenkins, and API frameworks.
- Strong understanding of incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor Operations teams, with a focus on service excellence and operational reliability.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including API owners, developers, and infrastructure teams.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and reporting platforms.
- Ability to conduct effective customer training and awareness sessions.
- Experience of working with agile practices and toolsets including JIRA and Confluence
