We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager Product Control

In this role, you will:

• Deliver timely and accurate daily and periodic reporting with high degree of accuracy and auditable controls
• Responsible for ensuring service delivery of Product Control processes as per the standards set out in agreed SLAs within the HSBC Global Resourcing operating framework
• Demonstrate an expert understanding of Markets business and processes
• Coordinate with the people manager in motivating and managing a team of finance professionals considering attritions, band progression, contingencies and expectations
• Observance to Group policies, audit, controls, and compliance requirements including but not limited to declaration of secrecy, data protection act, health, safety and security, information security, clear desk policy
• Take measures to continually assess the operational risks inherent in the processes, taking account of changing operating procedures, staff movements, legal and regulatory requirements, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
• Responsible for ensuring BCP (business continuity plan) is documented, agreed and tested as per agreed timelines
• Responsible for ensuring all SOPs (standard operating procedures) are in place and updated appropriately
• Responsible for ensuring Global Resourcing operating framework considering key operational risks(including people & processes) and ways to mitigate
• Manage Product control processes in accordance with the group’s FIM reporting requirements

To be successful you will:

• Chartered Accountant or equivalent accounting qualification, MBA (Finance) from a leading management institution with at least 4+ years of experience in strong accounting knowledge, including exposure to IFRS accounting.
• Experience in managing high end Accounting or Reporting & Analysis or finance and accounting activities
• Experience in reconciling & substantiating traded markets products e.g. FX, fixed income, equities and derivatives
• Exposure to diverse/multi-culture work environments with strong organization, time management and prioritization skills
• Technically proficient in systems and in MS Office, particularly Excel. Knowledge of other platforms such as PC Portal, TLM, DUCO, Cadency and Saracen would be advantageous.
• Experience in Six Sigma/Lean methodology will be an advantage
• Comfortable working in a team which operates across multiple shifts, from HK to NY

• Understanding and/or experience in Treasury business & experience in Hedge Accounting
• Experience with accounting controls for Financial Instruments
• Knowledge and experience with a programming language (i.e. VBA, Python, SQL, C++, etc)
