We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager Operations Traditional Fund Accounting.
In this role, you will:
- A working understanding of Non-Discretionary Dealing processes. An understanding of Box Management processes. Ability to independently resolve any issue and adhere to dealing cut-off. With an understanding of impact of specific journals and creation/cancellation process and the ability to independently investigate exceptions to Cash Allocation, Rebalancing and Order Management process.
- Consistently working accurately in a time pressure environment. Effective management and prioritization of workload, contribute to team organization taking responsibility to manage the team administration tasks. To communicate effectively as first line contact with Fund Managers and Transfer Agents with regards to all order management queries.
- Ability to effectively support and develop lower grade administrators through on the job training. Ensuring best practice is followed on an individual and team basis. Participate in the culture of ongoing process enhancements and reviews. Reviews and sign-off training and procedure notes in line with current practices.
- Complete error reporting and calculations of profit & loss to confirm financial impact of errors. Complete understanding of daily/weekly/monthly reporting requirements and ensure that they are reported in line with Key performance indicators. Fund Services provides Investment Administration and Performance Consultancy services to Investment Managers and Pension Funds worldwide, including potential services to other parts of the HSBC Group. Fund Services intends to set new quality standards in a competitive environment, to help attract and retain a blue-chip client base.
- Our clients operate in a highly regulated environment and it is of paramount importance that all internal controls and standard procedures are complied with at all times. Failure to comply could lead to financial penalties and damage to the Bank’s reputation in the marketplace.
- The role involves contact with clients, internal and other external parties such as auditors and trustees and all such communication must be conducted in a client friendly manner to project a professional image in the market place. Is aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations. Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
- The jobholder will assist the manager of the team by ensuring that the team tasks are completed respectively for the Non-Discretionary Dealing service to Investment Administration clients. Their role is to perform and oversee the necessary tasks required of the team and to ensure this is performed accurately and completely, ensuring procedures and service levels are adhered to, and where possible recommending process improvements for a more efficient service.
- The jobholder has the authority to release dealing to Fund Managers and Transfer Agents on behalf of the Investment Administration clients. The jobholder will deal with client contacts and is responsible for ensuring that all relevant client issues are escalated or resolved within agreed procedures/guidelines. Any queries on policy must be escalated to the Head of Accounting & Valuations.
To be successful, you will:
- Threshold Competent.
- Minimum of 2 years administration experience in securities industry.
- Experience of dealing directly with external clients and third parties.
- A knowledge of Box Management, Investment Accounting and Fund Administration.
- Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Ability to plan and organise workload to meet deadlines, taking into account relative priorities.
- Strong business sense and awareness of the key issues/risks within the Accounting and Valuations area.
