We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager,Risk Modeling and Monitoring
Business: Analytics
Principal responsibilities
- The incumbent would be responsible to validate both decision models and regulatory models (Basel) for the HBEU region using traditional and Machine Learning techniques, and socialize and explain them to a technical as well as non- technical audience to gain buy-in and approvals.
- Good knowledge of model validation process (Deliver Analytical projects like Model remediation, re-alignment, model assessment etc).
- Work with IMR, Governance committees to ensure Model receives a Fit for Purpose rating.
- The incumbent would be expected to effectively explain the trends, adding meaningful insights on the back of relevant business knowledge
- Ability to coordinate with various risk functions to gain business insight, improve productivity by streamlining processes, assure quality deliverables
- Ensure adherence with all the applicable compliance policies (Data security policy, AML, operational risk, Functional manual, Group Compliance Manual, Audit recommendations, Internal Control requirements, regulatory guidelines etc.) and business standards of Organization as applicable. Take timely action on Audit comments and be able to demonstrate compliance with Internal controls
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Mathematics or statistics, Statistical Modeling, Computational Finance, Economics or related field and a minimum of 2+ years of Model Risk Management experience, preferably in the financial services industry
- Conduct statistical analysis to evaluate risk
- Hands on experience in SAS/ SQL/Advance Excel.
- Must have a demonstrated analytical approach to complex processes
- Good organizational, analytical, problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills.
- Good time management with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven, multi-faceted environment.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, procedures, and techniques
- Explain quantitative concepts to a non-quantitative audience
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and drive for success.
What additional skills will be good to have?
- Prior risk modeling/risk model monitoring experience
- Expertise in Excel VBA and any of the data visualization platform – Qliksense (good to have)
- Experience in statistical model development/monitoring/ validation
- Experience in Python
